Our encounter with some spirit orbs

We had a quinceañera party (the Cuban equivalent of a Sweet Sixteen) at a very old inn. When we downloaded the photos, we noticed orbs in a number of photos. When we got back the photos from the camera with film, we also had more orbs. I decided to do some research and found out that people thought these were spirit orbs.

Here’s a little slide show explaining about spirit orbs and what we saw. The slides will advance automatically, put you can also control them with the red navigation bar at the bottom left of the slide show.

  1. Maybe the spirits of those who had passed and you were trying to help.

These orbs things are weird really. We have used the camera repeatedly since then and have never had these orbs appear again.

So . . . I think we might have had visitors that day. I’d like to think it was my mom, dad, father-in-law and grandparents dropping by to share in the celebration.

  2. Wow. Good orb photos!! We have some like that too. About 2 yrs ago here some local guys, including a good friend of ours played in the world’s longest hockey game to raise money for cancer research at the children’s hospital. Most of the guys had lost someone to the disease and their photos under the ice. We went out almost every night, some nights taking pictures of the guys playing. When we got the pictures developed (old style on film) you can barely see the players in a few of them through the orbs. We looked at pictures from other people and there’s orbs there too. They were playing outside, it wasn’t snowing, no one was using a flash so none of us can really think of what else could have caused the orbs.

  3. That’s so cool! As far as you know, no one actually saw them at the time of the party? I’m going to have pay closer to attention to photographs from now on!

  4. You’re welcome, Maureen. I didn’t quite believe it at first, but the orbs were too clear and regular to be just dust and pollen.

  5. That is scary, Jennifer. I wonder if the reason the stairs were a problem were because of the ghost of the man?

    Thanks for sharing.

  6. Wow! I’ve never seen anything like that. That was interesting. Thanks for showing it.

  7. When I was a little girl my parents bought a house in another town that was low priced because 50 or 60 years before a man killed his family and commited suicide in the attic. It had caused a sensation in the small town so no one that had lived around there wouldn’t go near it saying the man was still there. So my parents decided not to tell us until some time after we moved in. But before they told us something weird happened. My bedroom had a connecting bathroom to the room my brother’s shared and the way we had our beds placed my older brother could look through the bathroom and see the foot of my bed. Now I loved this room, I had it decorated the way I wanted and just loved being in there. But one night voices woke my brother up, but no one was there. He couldn’t figure it out, so he decided to look around and as he was getting out of his bed he glanced through the doorways and saw a woman sitting on a table at the foot of my bed, watching me sleep. She turned and looked at him, put her finger to her mouth, like she was shushing him, and turned back to me and disappeared. I was never bothered by this woman, but someone the stairs leading to our attic were always a bother. You could hear someone running up and down them at various times of the day and night. My younger brother and I also had accidents on them, I slid down them and skinned up my back, but my brother fell down them from about 3/4 of the way up and broke his arm, he was 4 at the time. But even with the strange happenings we didn’t move until a few years later and then it was because my mom found a house she liked better. So even though we had a few encounters, nothing was too bad to make us leave and compared to what some people have to deal with as far as hauntings go we were pretty lucky.

  8. Wow..how cool! It definitely makes you wonder.

I’ve never seen a ghost and since I’m a big chicken, I hope I don’t ever see one. lol

  9. It’s all that not knowing. Sure wish someone would find a yeta or the loch ness monster, etc. lol. In the meantime, I like to believe it’s a possibility.

  10. Trippy pictures……I’ve always believed in spirits,it looks like your spirits wanted to make sure everyone was in happy spirits.*g*

  11. I’ve never seen a ghost (that I’m aware of), but we’ve participated in the Ghost Hunt at the Mansfield Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. Such a fun time! The Reformatory was where The Shawshank Redemption was filmed. Way cool. :>]

  12. I once worked in an old house converted to a restaurant/banquet facility.
An old man and his wife lived there for years before that.
Many of the old time workers said they saw Charlie the old man’s ghost.
Once he was a spirit orb.
I worked the night his wife died.
And sure enough Charlie made some noise. Thankfully I wasn’t alone.
