Guilty Pleasures Monday – Clive Owen

Clive Owen Courtesy of http://www.girl.com.auMy daughter and I were watching television together and a commercial came on. I hear her say, “He’s hot” and think, “Yes, he is.” I guess it goes to prove that rugged handsome men still reach across all age groups.

The first time I saw Clive was on a plane. Unfortunately, not in real life. King Arthur was playing and while I had heard middling reviews about the film and a lot of complaints about the historical basis upon which this Arthurian movie was based, I couldn’t drag my eyes off the screen! It was a long long flight, so I got to watch it twice.

Of course, I waited for the Director’s Cut of the movie, which has a little more romance than the original release. That’s the one thing that this film needed — a little more romance between gorgeous Clive and equally devastating Keira Knightley. There was real chemistry between them!

So, Clive is this Monday’s Guilty Pleasure. Go out and rent/buy King Arthur. You will not be sorry that you did.

Clive is currently starring in Shoot ‘Em Up with Paul Giamatta and Monica Belluci. The site describes it as a “gritty action-paced thriller” although upon seeing the trailers, hubby and I thought it was a spoof. Hmm. Possibly a problem, right? If anybody goes to see the movie when it comes out on Sept. 7, please write back and let us know what you thought.

P.S. — I’ll be chatting today at noon at eharlequin.com as well as chatting tonight at 9 at the NJRW/Noveltalk Chat room (http://www.njromancewriters.org/njrwchat.html). Stop by for a chance to discuss SECRET AGENT REUNION and to possibly win a fun prize!

  1. Hubber hubber I love that rugged look, perhaps its the messy hair or the unshaven 5o’clock shadow still present that makes men so oh la la … I just get tempted to run my fingers on that luscious bod. Clive my man, you can park you boots under my bed anytime *GRIN*

  2. Thanks, Kaye! It was nice getting to chat with you. Good luck with your writing and if you ever have any questions, just drop me a line. I’ve got some articles on the site under Meet Me! as well.

  3. Hi Caridad! Enjoyed the chat today at eharlequin! I hope you do more of those. I love your books and love Nocturne as well. I’m getting ready to read Agent Reunion. I look forward to seeing more of you and your work. Kaye

  4. You know what, I was a little . . . I don’t know . . . iffy about the cover ’cause it shows her all clingy and Dani is anything but clingy! LOL!

    So glad you enjoyed it.

  5. I read secret agent reunion last week while at a womyn’s music festival. Talk about a guilty pleasure! I felt like I had to hide the cover or the feministas and the left handed batters might come after me with their mohawks blazing! Had a great time reading it, added a little to the suspense having to read it clandestinely.
