Guilty Pleasures Monday – Chasing Away the Chill

Hot Buns Chase Away the ChillIt occurred to me that we had grown fixated on abs and that sexy little V all through last year and so I decided to give you a change of pace — some nice hot buns to chase away the winter chill.

I don’t know about you, but winter is my least favorite season primarily because I hate the cold. I can tolerate the rain, even the gloominess and yes, even the snow, but not the cold. I’m convinced that it’s because I’m just not genetically ready for it yet. Having been born in Cuba, my body craves heat and not ice (except maybe in my mojito).

I guess that’s why I’ve also been dreaming of heading somewhere warm. Somewhere like South Beach where I can soak up some sun and heat while lounging by either the pool or beach. Maybe hubby and I should have saved that Hawaii vacation until February!

What about you? Do you live somewhere the seasons change and if so, what’s your least favorite season and why?

  2. Totally weird in NYC/NJ as well. Last night when I went to the gym to workout, the thermometer in the car said it was 56!

Today looks like it will be a beautiful spring day.

  3. I’ve never seen such strange weather. I live in Pa and it hit 66 today and will be that way tomorrow too – but I’m not complaining. I’ll take that weather over snow any day. I hate cold and especially wet, windy and cold. So I vote no to winter – we’ll probably have snow in April and May to make up for this weather lol.

  4. I shouldn’t be complaining since it’s 40 today and supposed to go to 60 tomorrow. Totally not winter in NYC. The problem is that if it’s mild, we seem to skip spring (which I love) and go straight to 90 degrees and 90 humidity.

That first fall night is one of the best of the year. Especially if there’s a fire going somewhere and you can smell the woodsmoke.

  5. I live where the seasons change. But not when they’re supposed to. Last week it was in the teens, today 65 degrees and 90 percent humidity. -we are not amused –

When it comes to my favorite season it has to be fall. I took a camping trip out on the prairie this October. I went into the flint hills of Kansas and spent the Columbus day weekend at Council Grove lake. The wind blew like crazy but the stars came out in the cool crisp autumn night. Leaves rattled like old bones in the breeze.

I love that first night in the fall where you curl up with a blanket for the first time in months and get to look forward to a cozy sweater again.
