Guilty Pleasure Monday – Jesse L. Martin

Seems apropo to bring you Jesse L. Martin this Monday since last week was Martin’s final episode on the long-running Law & Order show. Always elegant and professional, Martin’s presence on the show helped soothe the loss of Jerry Orbach. Martin and Orbach were perfect together and both will be sorely missed.

As for whether Martin is hot . . . Well, I always thought he was a totally sexy man and so did many of my friends! There’s just something so silently sensual about his look and the way he moves . . .

Besides being a hottie, Martin is an accomplished actor who has been on numerous shows and was also one of the original cast members of the popular Broadway show RENT. He reprised his role in the recently released film version of that show.

Here’s a clip from that final show courtesy of the NBC website!

  1. I will miss seeing this very special actor!
He really brought an abundance of talent
to this role. We can only hope to see
him on this series again. My son got to
see Jesse in “Rent” when David was
    assistant directing an off-Broadway
    play!

  2. He is cute!! I don’t think I even caught one episode of KIDNAPPED and I haven’t seen WAITRESS. I should ’cause I heard it was really good. Thanks for the info.

  3. Kidnapped was canceled 🙁 but NBC owns Universal HD and they show a lot of older and/or canceled stuff there–so I got to finish watching it.

  4. I’m glad they made it so he could come back. I really liked him. I’m not liking the new DA very much. Don’t know why.

“Jumping the shark”! I didn’t realize for the longest time that this phrase referred to the Happy Days episode near the end when Fonzie jumped over a shark and you knew they had hit rock bottom!

  5. I really enjoyed his character and I was afraid they were going to burn him on this last show. I’m glad they gave him an option to return.
I ust watched a show last night about ‘jumping the shark’ and it talked about how they killed off characters and when they wanted to bring them back they had crazy episodes.

  6. He’s ADORABLE! I fell in love with him in NBC’s short-lived Kidnapped from last year.

Though watching him in Waitress was quite an experience. He was such an a$$. I know there are folks out there who probably laughed and maybe even rolled their eyes over how over the top his character was…but he more than reminded me of a few ex boyfriends (and the ex-spouster)…It’s a struggle but I’ll try not to hold it against him 😀

  7. Lawd he IS a guilty pleasure!!!

I dont like the new DA so much either but I don’t hate him–I do like Jeremy Sisto (is that his name? Jesse’s new partner this year). They had good chemistry.
