I wasn’t allowed to chew gum so I got wrappers from people who could and at least made a few inches of chain…old people. I was probably the only kid with Beechnut Peppermint gum wrappers on her four inch chain.
But I remember one time chewing this awful Blackjack gum somebody gave me. My mother freaked. They still make it a few times per year and it sells for a premium. My mother thought it was tar….

I remember getting that gum as a kid, but like you said the taste never lasted… My sister and I saw it in the store the other day and commented about it… never made chains. I remember Bonkers, do they still make them!?! I loved Bonkers…

I remember making the chains and just dug yesterday’s wrapper out of my garbage to see if I could still make one :>)
