Unique Vampire Stories To Die For

We are starting an awesome blog hop today with six of my vampire romance author friends! Take a moment to visit each blog over the next few days for a chance to win some awesome prizes, learn why we write vampire romance and find out more about us!

Vampire romance is such a full and dynamic fiction genre that it can be a challenge for authors to make their stories stand out from the crowd. Here, six vampire romance authors sink their teeth into what they think is especially unique about their latest vampire stories…

Joyee: I think what’s different in my newest book and the series from most vampire books is they respect humans. So much of what they do is to protect those who know nothing about them so that they may live their lives in blissful ignorance. Also, there is more than just vampires in the world. Maverick will find himself mated to a fae warrior who’s over seven feet tall and a gorgeous werewolf. Both their blood have different effects on Maverick but only one will be pleasurable!

Laura: Two things are particularly unique about my debut novel, a vampire romance called Forever Freed. First, the story is told from the first person point of view of the hero – just imagine living in the head of a sexy, tortured vampire hero! Second, the story has a child character who is central to the plot and to the hero’s character development, and the relationship between the hero and the child is one of the most unique and compelling things about the book. In Seduced by the Vampire King, book 2 in my Vampire Warrior Kings series that releases June 1, one of the things that is unique is that the human heroine knows about vampires and wants absolutely nothing to do with them. Another is the worldbuilding in which seven remaining vampire kings in alliance with a handful of elite, influential humans reign over their respective regions of the world and fight in an ancient war against evil, immortal enemies.

Lisa: In the first book of my Night Series, we meet Calisto, a Night Walker. While he is immortal and drinks blood in order to survive, his race is slightly different from the European vampires. Night Walkers actually come from the Mayans, and when the sun sets, their hearts start to beat and they breathe. They’re alive at night and dead by day. There are a few other differences between Night Walkers and vampires, that readers will discover as the series unfolds.

Laurie: TEMPTED BY BLOOD, the third book in the Sweetblood series, is Jackson’s story. He’s the playboy charmer of the Seattle area Guardians, vampires sworn to protect sweetblood humans from Darkbloods who want to sell their very rare, highly addictive blood on the vampire black market. But his secret world is turned upside down when Arianna Wells, the spunky, sexy blogger behind Paranormalish, puts his picture on the internet, identifying him as a vampire, and sets in motion a terrible plot by his enemies.

Caridad: The Vampire’s Consort, is one of my new erotic paranormal novellas for the Nocturne Cravings line. The hero, Adrian, is a vampire who took a liking to Eliza, a young woman dying of tuberculosis. Despite the warnings of other vampires about taking on a young and attractive woman as his keeper, Adrian gives Eliza a choice: die of a fatal illness, or become his consort and attend to his every need. Eliza chose life, but she did not expect to fall in love–and lust–with him.

Elisabeth: In King of Darkness, Thad is a rare alpha/beta archetype king. He was once a fighter but has been hit by crisis after crisis on the heels of the tragic death of his parents. He must fight to win the love of his reluctant destined queen, Isabel. All this, while struggling to rise to the occasion and present a united leadership for the good of his race. Their wizard enemies are killing the vampires off in order to steal magical powers from them, and gaining ground quickly…
