4th of July Parade and Fireworks

There is something about the 4th of July along the Jersey Shore that just screams “America” to me. The parade with both the crowd and parade people in their red, white and blue. The carefree glee of the kids as they dash to pick up the candy being tossed from the various parade vehicles. Feeling your heart swell as the band plays “It’s a Grand Ol’ Flag” or our veterans go buy and the crowd cheers for them. People huddled on the sand, waiting anxiously for that first boom and flash of light as the fireworks start.

All-American to me. I guess that’s why I love it so much! I hope you’ll enjoy seeing the photos as well down below. If you can’t see the photos, you can click here to see them.

Here is one of my favorites – people illuminated along the beach by the light from the fireworks. It was kind of eerie to see, especially as the smoke from the fireworks built up and created a kind of haze along the beachfront.

  1. Didn’t get to see any firework this year. 😥 Seattle usually has good ones during the 4th and New Year’s.

  2. AWESOME pictures!!! It looks like you had a great time. Due to circumstances, we didn’t get to do much but watch fireworks on TV. We are gearing up for the All Star Game here in KC. I’ve got tickets to the Celebrity Softball Game and Futures Game. Pretty excited! Have a great weekend!!

  3. Red, white and blue. Are true colors of our warriors the ones that fought for our freedom.
We celebrate our freedom for five days. 4 days of B-B-Que, swimming, fishing and family fun on the 5th day we go to our family plots and clean them and have a picnic and tell all 22 grand babies the real story of what our freedom cost. Red,white and blue are very important to us because we have lost many fighting for our freedom.

  4. Looks like you had a good time. I love the dog in the red white & blue hat. I had a nice 4th. My family came over for bbq and we had brownies & red, white and blue cupcakes. Have a nice weekend.—Rachel
