Awards

DEATH CALLS, Caridad’s December 2006 release, was chosen by CATALINA Magazine as the top fantasy book of 2006 and will be featured in the January Catalina Magazine. You can click here for another press release regarding this selection.
Caridad’s twelfth novel and debut women’s fiction work, SEX AND THE SOUTH BEACH CHICAS (Sept. 2006, Downtown Press), was the October selection of the Catalina Magazine Book Club and was recently featured in the October 23 issue of Hispanic Outlook Magazine.
In October, Caridad was a featured author at the Philadelphia Catalina Magazine Spa Event at the Rittenhouse Hotel and Spa. The event was covered by Philly Fit Magazine.

Caridad captained the vampire panels and participated on the multicultural panels at the 2007, 2008 and 2009 RT BookClub Conventions. Caridad will also be the Vampire Panel Captain at the 2010 RT BookClub Convention.
Caridad was one of several authors appearing at the 2006 NAIBA Moveable Feast during their annual Trade Show.
On August 14, 2006, Caridad joined Rachel Kramer Bussell and other authors at Rachel’s IN THE FLESH Erotic Reading Series.
In July 2006, Caridad was a featured author at the Dallas Latino Book and Family Festival and the related Catalina Magazine Spa Event at the Crescent Court Hotel and Spa. The event was covered by Diario Las Estrellas.
Caridad’s DEATH CALLS, book #4 in the THE CALLING Vampire series, helped Harlequin launch its Nocturne line in 2006.
In May 2006, Caridad was one of the authors featured by Harlequin at this year’s BookExpo to celebrate the upcoming launch of Nocturne. Caridad also was a panelist at the 2006 RT BookClub Convention in Dallas and the first ever Chica Lit Club Convention in Miami.
Caridad was one of the authors selected for the first ever chica lit anthology, FRIDAY NIGHT CHICAS, which appeared in Latina, LatinaStyle, New York Post and Hispanic Magazine.
DANGER CALLS (June 2005) was a Catalina Magazine Top 5 Pick as the Best Fantasy of 2005! and was selected by Catalina as the debut book for their cyber book club. DANGER CALLS was also a finalist in the 2005 RIO Reviewers Choice Awards.
DARKNESS CALLS (March 2004) was a Finalist in Affaire de Coeur Reader’s Poll and a Finalist in Harlequin Reader’s Poll. DARKNESS CALLS was also featured in Latina Magazine and Hispanic Magazine. DARKNESS CALLS was also an RT Bookclub Top Pick!
Caridad’s short contemporary novel, BETTER THAN EVER, won the NJ Romance Writers Golden Leaf Award for Best Short Contemporary in 2001.
NOW AND ALWAYS, Caridad’s first novel helped launch Kensington’s Encanto multi-cultural romance line and was featured on the cover of RT Bookclub. NOW AND ALWAYS was also featured in the New Jersey Star Ledger in its article on Latino Romances.
