Christmas Fun!

With my daughter now running her shop, we had to mix two traditions together this Christmas season: Getting the tree and visiting New York City.

We started our morning yesterday with a run out to the Anne Ellen Tree Farm in Manalapan where we walked around in gorgeous weather to pick out our tree! We also pick out new ornaments to add to the tree each year. This is a picture of the ornament shop at Anne Ellen!

Then it was a rush home to get dressed and ready for our annual trip to New York City. We love seeing all the windows, visiting the NY Public Library to check out their exhibits, seeing the tree in Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s across the way before finally getting to Lincoln Center to watch the Nutcracker.

It was a day packed with walking and lots of fun and I’ve got a mess of pictures to share with you.

At the library, they had an exhibit on lunches in New York City. It was fun to see the evolution of city eateries, from the pushcarts to power lunches. The part of the exhibit on Horn & Hardart brought back memories of going to one with my mom. The last functioning automat was actually across the street from my old office! Here’s a shot of what they looked like.

Then we were off to see the tree in Rockefeller Center. It looked lovely this year!

We had a lovely time walking up Fifth Avenue and through part of Central Park before heading to our final destination – Lincoln Center!

Those are just some of the photos! To see more, you can click here.

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?

#ManCandyMonday Prince Alexander Ivanov

You may be wondering what I had in mind when I thought up Prince Alexander from THE PRINCE’S GAMBLE.

Exotic would be a good word to describe him off the bat. FBI Agent Kathleen Martinez certainly thought so at her first meeting with the prince.

Despite his tone and attitude, it was hard for Kathleen to ignore that he was an incredibly handsome man. The pictures and clippings in her file had not done him justice.

Ivanov stood at least six foot two with broad shoulders that strained the expensive fabric of his designer suit. His well-muscled upper body flowed into lean hips and powerful legs.

She dragged her attention back to his face. The muscles in his chiseled jaw clenched with annoyance. It was hard to tell if he had full lips from the angry slash of his mouth. High cheekbones served to highlight winter blue eyes with an exotic tilt. Or maybe his eyes only seemed clear as the sky due to the midnight hair ruthlessly styled into place.

Two gorgeous men in one day, and just her luck they were both connected to her investigation. But while Detective Roman still possessed a hint of boyishness in his features, Alexander was a man with a capital M. Her flare of attraction to him was disturbing on several levels.

LOL, definitely a MAN with all caps. But the things that I found most intriguing about Alexander were the many layers to his personality. Alexander is a man shaped by hardship and yet privileged as few can be. That really brought a number of different traits to him that I found fascinating and that Kathleen did as well.

I hope you’ll enjoy finding out more about Alexander in THE PRINCE’S GAMBLE.

Now to leave you with a little of my inspiration for the prince!

Ottawa Winter Wonderland

I had a lovely time in Ottawa. The weather was a bit chilly, but it was wonderful to meet with one of my many awesome online friends, Diane. It was great to put a face to a name and share some time talking about books and writing!

The chill melted quickly with the warmth of friendship. The snow didn’t melt so quickly, LOL! When I arrived there were a few inches and we had flurries virtually every day.

For this Fun Friday, I decided to share with you this blinged up version of the Ottawa Winter Wonderland. If you can’t see the image below, you can click here.

Totally Hot Tuesday Adam Levine

Whew, what a busy day yesterday! I had a lot of running around to do online as well as in real life since I’m up in Canada!

So thank you for your patience for missing Man Candy Monday, but we’ve got got Totally Hot Tuesday going on today. LOL!

Today’s hot choice is sexy Adam Levine from Maroon 5 and The Voice. What’s funny is that I don’t normally like tattoos, but there is just something so cute about Adam that I’m willing to overlook them! How about you?

THE PRINCE’S GAMBLE Free Read

I am pleased to say that THE PRINCE’S GAMBLE is now available at B&N! You can click here to buy it.

I am also happy to share with you an excerpt from this new romantic suspense. In this scene FBI Agent Kathleen Martinez has tracked down a white slavery ring to a warehouse in Manhattan. Unfortunately, the lawyers for the warehouse owners – the Ivanov family – have been stonewalling their entry into the building.

I hope you’ll enjoy this scene and when you’re done, you’ll understand why Kathleen is less than enthusiastic about helping Prince Alexander, scion of the Ivanov family, when he’s got a problem at his new casino in Atlantic City.
