Fun Friday – A new addition to the blog

0

I could not wake the inner Fashionista this morning. The weather was gloomy and wet. The only thing I could think about was slipping on my Columbia rain/winter boots so that my feet wouldn’t get wet.

I hate wet feet. Must be the cat in me!

Actually, the more I thought about, the more I realized how hard it is for me to do the Fashionista thing on a regular basis now that my daughter is on hiatus due to the demands of school.

So it occurred to me to spice Fridays up by offering some fun stuff that I can do! So, look for Fun Fridays on a regular basis. I’ll be posting things you can do on the ‘Net as well as possibly some humorous jokes that have come my way.

To get you started – some online puzzles. When I was a kid, my mom, sis and I would spend hours together working on puzzles. One time it took us a few months to finish one of those really complex gazillion piece puzzles, but we did it!

These are simpler and hopefully will give you a fun way to take a break today. Continue reading »

Fashion Friday – Winter Hats

0

I wasn’t prepared for our trip to New York City in that I didn’t bring a cute hat like the one my daughter is wearing in this picture. So we bought one while we were walking around and it was great. Little pattern on the hat and a soft fleecy inside. One of the things I always hated about caps like this was how itchy they were, but this one by Champion is totally comfortable even though it kept on slipping off my big head. Continue reading »

Fashion Friday – Office Holiday Parties

0

party.jpgIt’s that time of year when businesses hold their annual parties to celebrate the holidays. There are those who get dressed to the nines for these events, but as you must have guessed by now, I’m a simple kind of women. I’ve got a cute little white shirt that has Christmas ornaments embroidered down the front.

Of course because it’s white, I’m praying I don’t dribble some of the party goodies down the front of it or do something equally clutzy as is my general inclination. Which I guess brings us to a list of things not to do at the holiday party! Continue reading »

Holiday GiftsFirst of all Happy Hanukkah to all my Jewish friends! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday.

I’m sure many of you are feeling the same way and hope I can help with these little tips about what to get any friends who happen to be writers as well. Continue reading »

Fashion Friday — Back to Normal?

Bryant Park in the Morning LightCan it be back to normal when the Mets lost and the man who helped put them in a dead heat with the Phillies was named . . . Pineiro. Yep, the pitcher was Joel Pineiro. Don’t know if he’s any relation, but it’s not a common name so maybe. Continue reading »

Fashion Friday – Golden Apple Award and Basic Black

3

As you may have gathered from the front page of the website or other posts, on Tuesday I visited the wonderful NYC Romance Writers at their equally great Golden Apple Awards. I was one of the honorees as I was receiving the Author of the Year award (I still get goosebumps thinking about it!) Continue reading »

Fashion Friday – Finally gone . . .

2

Finishing up Fashion WeekWell, maybe not totally gone. The tents are down, most of the generators are gone and they’ve begun to disassemble the rest. This is what Bryant Park looked like this morning.

Now, I know the NYT says that most New Yorkers don’t mind losing the park for a week or two, but I for one don’t listen to a thing the NYT says anyway. Continue reading »
