Beginning to Look Like Christmas

I could not wait for the magic of Christmas because I feel like time is flying by faster than Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve! That’s why I dove headfirst into decking the halls with boughs of holly, nutcrackers, twinkling lights and all the festive trimmings. The tree will have to wait, though – we like to keep it fresh until the Epiphany. Speaking of traditions, what are your favorite yuletide customs? Any quirky decorations you can’t do without? Take a moment and share your holiday cheer!

Want to get dirty?

I’m a self-proclaimed garden nut! Nothing beats the feel of dirt beneath my fingers and the satisfaction of nurturing my little green babies. Luckily, my sis shares the same love for gardening and together we scour stores for new plants to add to our collections. My hubby is as green-thumbed as a rock. Sure, he gobbles up sun-kissed tomatoes like candy, but when it comes to helping out in the garden, let’s just say his enthusiasm is limited. When my sis sent me a hilarious meme from Houseplant Central that described that situation perfectly, I knew it was time to create my own! So, spill the beans, are you a garden maniac or more of a sit-back-and-enjoy-the-harvest kind of person?

To Release or Not To Release? That is the Question?

When I first wrote Darkness Calls, my vampire romantic suspense novel, it was longer and grittier with more scenes with the serial killer. FBI Agent Diana Reyes and sexy Southern vampire Ryder Latimer were also edgier and their romance was more intense. A lot of that had to be cut due to length and content requirements for the New York City publisher who bought the book. So the question is: To release or not to release that original version? Inquiring minds want to know. Would you read that longer, more intense version of the novel?

Greetings from Seoul, Korea!

As I write, I am in a small apartment in the Itaewon section of Seoul, Korea fighting off major jet lag! LOL! I left for Korea with my daughter and two of her friends who love all things Korean. I, too, love Korean things and plan on setting my next romantic suspense in this lovely city and country. Our adventure began when we left NYC yesterday for an uneventful 15-hour flight. Yes, 15 hours non-stop. It seemed long after the first four hours but once sleep kicked in, the time flew by. We were surprised at our arrival to find that my daughter’s long-distance friend was actually at the terminal with her family since they came to pick up a friend who was visiting. It was so nice to meet the young woman in person and we were able to converse in a common language: Spanish. She’s been studying it for several years and is quite fluent in it! Later this week we are going to visit with her family and her mom is going to give us a cooking lesson as we were unable to book one through any of the local tours. Can’t wait! Since jet lag has prevented us from sleeping, we decided to watch the sunrise from our rooftop deck before embarking on a day of exploring Seoul. Stay tuned for more pictures and updates.

Thank you so so much for the friendship and support that has made that possible. Hoping you all have a fabulous Friday! We’re suffering through yet another waterlogged day. Honestly, I don’t know how people in Seattle or London deal with all the rainy weather.
