I have to confess that I never watched Grey’s Anatomy, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate a cutie like Patrick Dempsey.
I remember him catching my eye in MOBSTERS, where he also starred with a number of other hotties, like Christian Slater, Richard Grieco and Costas Mandylor!
More recently I’ve enjoyed seeing him in MADE OF HONOR and ENCHANTED.
I have the pleasure of having with me today the wonderful Hope Tarr who is telling us a little about her re-release of A ROGUE’S PLEASURE and offering a copy of her novel VANQUISHED to one lucky person. Hope is the award-winning author of thirteen historical and contemporary romances as well as a co-founder of Lady Jane’s Salon, New York City’s first and so far only monthly reading series for romance fiction. “Tomorrow’s Destiny,” Hope’s first novella, will release November 10th in a single title Christmas anthology, A HARLEQUIN CHRISTMAS CAROL, with Betina Krahn and Jacquie D’Alessandro. Visit Hope online at www.HopeTarr.com and find her on Twitter and Facebook.
Some of you may know that Caridad means Charity in English (my nickname by the way), so we’ve got 2 of the 3 virtues here today! Are there any Faiths out there to make it all three?
Without further ado – my friend and fellow author, Hope Tarr.

Second chances at love, don’t you just…love them?
A ROGUE’S PLEASURE, my romance debut novel originally published in print with Berkley/Jove, is getting its own second chance at love as an e-book release with Carina Press, Harlequin’s digital-first imprint and like any proud mama I couldn’t be more pleased. The reissue, which sports gorgeous new cover art and an editing facelift, went live on August 16th, two weeks short of what would be the book’s tenth anniversary. How cool is that!?!
A ROGUE’S PLEASURE is a Regency romp that I’m thrilled to be able to share with a new generation of romance readers. To get the soiree started, close your eyes—okay, don’t close them since you need them open to read this—or better yet open your mind to the clip-clop of horses hooves instead of sirens and honking cars.
It is Regency England, 1812. Napoleon is wreaking havoc in Europe, including Spain and Portugal where ousting the rightful royals and setting his sibling, Joseph Bonaparte, on the Spanish throne has catalyzed a sweeping grassroots national resistance supported by Britain and its Allies. On the home front, private coaches traveling between the countryside and London are prime targets for the rogues of the road: highwaymen.
Put yourself in the shoes, or rather the Wellingtons, of my hero, Lord Anthony Grenville. Recently returned from the Peninsular War with a gamey leg and a bad case of combat stress masquerading as ennui, you are in your private coach en route to London with your fiancée, Lady Phoebe Tremont, and her shrew of a mother. To drown out the droning of your soon-to-be mother-in-law, you think not great thoughts but rather mundane ones. Will the inn’s beef be soured again? Sigh. Might there be a decent claret to bespeak in lieu of the usual ale? Must I really marry this pretty but deucedly dull girl? You are not only thinking such thoughts but lost to them when a shout of “Halt! Stand and deliver!” freezes the blood in your veins.
Chelsea Bellamy must raise the sum of 500 pounds to ransom her beloved brother. Having exhausted all other avenues, she has taken to the road disguised as the highwayman One-Eyed Jack, accompanied by her faithful manservant, the real One-Eyed Jack. Outnumbered though he is and hampered with womenfolk, still Anthony isn’t going down easily. He isn’t going down at all. Beneath his fancy frock coat, embroidered waistcoat, and frothy shirt, he has a soldier’s spine of steel—and a heart in need of saving.

Thanks so much for joining me today at Caridad’s blog. Please post a comment by midnight EST Thursday August 26th and be entered to win an autographed copy of VANQUISHED, the launch for my Victorian-set “Men of Roxbury House” trilogy.
Michael first caught my eye as Logan Cale on DARK ANGEL, but I absolutely love him as Agent Anthony DiNozzo on NCIS!
Being a hopeful romantic, I had always wanted the Tony character to end up in a relationship with Kate. Of course that became impossible when they killed her off.
Now I’ve set my sites on Ziba as the most likely candidate for Tony. Let’s hope they don’t write Ziba out either, although as Michael commented in one interview, the NCIS really stands for “No Character is Safe.”
Let’s hope our movie-loving, wise-cracking totally sexy Tony is spared such a fate.

This weekend I deconstructed the Star Trek movie with my buddies at the Liberty States Fiction Writers. A fun time was had by all as we watched the new version and discussed the various series with which some of us had grown up.
Feeling nostalgic, it made me recollect my earliest sci fi series – Flash Gordon as portrayed by Buster Crabbe. Buster would go on and play Tarzan in one movie and then another nameless jungle man in various other movies (which I also loved!). Buster also played Buck Rogers, another of my favorites.
Buster was a talented swimmer who won both a Bronze and Gold medal at the Olympics (in 1928 and 1932 respectively).
He starred in hundreds of movies and television shows throughout his life and when his career started to wane, he became a representative for a New Jersey pool company.
If you want to check out the Flash Gordon series for yourself, the earlier Flash Gordon shows and movies are available in DVD format.
My husband has gotten me hooked on BURN NOTICE. It’s hard not to get involved with not only the interesting tidbits provided by ex-CIA Agent Michael Weston during the narration which appeal to the suspense writer in me, but also the wonderful cast of characters.
I love explosion-happy Fiona in particular, but there’s also no denying that the dapper and unflappable Michael Weston (played by Jeffrey Donovan) is a big draw.
If you haven’t watched the show, try to catch it in re-runs or online. The mix of suspense, comedy and romance (although could we get a little more of this BURN NOTICE writers!) is great.
He was serial killer scary in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, but this weekend, as I watched VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA, my heart did a little pitter patter each time Javier Bardem stepped onto the screen.
Those sexy bedroom eyes, deep and mysterious. Dimples and a smile that transforms his face. Handsome in a rugged way, not pretty like Brad Pitt.
I’m not a celebrity watcher, but you don’t have to be to know he married Penelope Cruz recently. She was also in the movie playing his crazed gun-wielding ex-wife. Besides marrying an actress, Javier comes from a long line of people involved in Spanish cinema. I’m glad he made the transition to English-speaking roles so that we had a chance to discover him!
The movie was interesting. I might watch it again for more glimpses of Javier if time allows. The themes in the movie are definitely adult, so this is one for you and your hubby or girlfriends.
With all my grandparents coming from the north of Spain – Galicia – there’s no doubt that my allegiances during the final game of the World Cup were with Spain. I don’t know whether it was a good game as I only caught the overtime period, but those last thirty minutes were quite exciting.
They also left me wondering, Why don’t I watch more soccer with so many cuties on the field? So who caught me eye besides the luscious striker David Villa who I blogged about a few weeks ago?
There was midfielder Cesc Fabregas who also plays for Arsenal (a Dutch team!)
Forward Fernando Torres who was unfortunately still recovering from knee surgery, but gamely struggling to play.
I could keep on going, but ladies, I think we should all think about watching a little more soccer! Every time I look there’s more eye candy for me to savor.
Hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend! Today we’re having a belated Guilty Pleasure and some special July Contests!
So who is today’s Guilty Pleasure? What about a totally buff masculine man? What about a kick butt action hero?
We’re talking about Jason Statham who has played both the bad guy (Cellular with hottie Chris Evans), sidekick (The Italian Job) and the hero (the Transporter series). Buff and burly, he’s not a pretty boy, but he sure is hot!
Hope you enjoyed this belated Guilty Pleasure!
And as for contests. . .
We’re having not one, but two Jersey Shore Sin Hunter Summer Goody contests during the month of July!
Come down the shore with me for Christmas in July with my wonderful friends at Fresh Fiction.
Autographed ARC of STRONGER THAN SIN & SIN HUNTER Summer Goody bag which includes a STRONGER THAN SIN T-shirt & Tote bag, Jesse Bradford Rubber Football Ducky, Bath & Body Works Shower Gel, Mini-Beach Ball and Candy.
An apology to all those on Team Edward, but as much as all of you know that I love vampires, I’ve got to get on the side of Team Jacob this morning! How can I not with the likes of Taylor Lautner playing the werewolf in the Bella-Edward-Jacob triangle?
