This or That: Blonde or Dark

I have a thing for dark-haired men with light-colored eyes much like Trey Gonzalez from Lost in Little Havana or Ryder Latimer from Darkness Calls. But I also like to slip in an occasional blonde surfer-dude type like Jonathan Pierce in What Happens in Summer. I once read an article that said that women don’t like blond men in romances but I don’t believe that! What about you? Do you prefer blondes or dark-haired men as the heroes of your romance novels?

Lean and Mean or a Big Bear

Happy Man Candy Monday! It’s hard work looking for all these photos, but someone has to do it! LOL! So this morning I need your advice for a future cover model. Do you like Lean and Mean like our THIS choice or do you like someone a little more burly like the Big Bear on the THAT choice? Personally I prefer the Big Bear but I’d love to know what you think. This is for the cover of my upcoming romantic suspense release The Fifth Kingdom.

This or That? Casual or Suit?

When I’m writing, I often have to decide how to dress my characters. Oftentimes they’re usually only wearing casual clothes since they’re busy investigating, but I have to confess I find nothing sexier than a well-dressed man in a suit. So for today’s Man Candy Monday, share whether you prefer a man in casual clothes or all dressed up in something more formal.

Archeologists, Aztec Demons, and Romance

I’m getting ready to re-release Aztec Gold, a sexy novella revolving around two archeologists who have been reunited and must fight to free team members from a temple where they are being held by an ancient Aztec demon. The hero, Rafael Santiago, had disappeared months earlier and his former lover, Cynthia Guerrera, has led a new expedition to find him and his team after she discovers a Conquistador’s map that is eerily similar to the map that Rafael was using to find the temple in order to study the ancient Aztecs. I loved exploring Aztec myths and culture to write this story which has action, adventure, sexiness, and a hint of the paranormal with the demon and some unusual powers that Rafael has been gifted from an Aztec sorcerer. This is how I pictured Rafael, Rafe to his lover and friends.

Sometimes less is more

When I get ready to write a love scene in a romance novel, I always try to strike a balance between the physical and the emotional. To me, getting the emotion right makes the scene more compelling than a lot of description about what’s happening physically. In fact, sometimes less is more, like in this photo. Aren’t you dying to see more? Isn’t that more enticing than showing way too much of this delicious man? LOL! If you want to check out that less versus more in my stories, compare the romance and suspense in Decoy Training or Darkness Calls against sexy paranormals like Nocturnal Whispers, Her Vampire Lover, and The Shifter’s Kiss. They’re all free on Kindle Unlimited at https://amzn.to/3M4OW2J.

Sexy Brett from Danger in Dade

I’ve just started working on #4 in the South Beach Security K-9 Division spinoff. The hero in this story is Brett Madison who was a military policeman who has been partnered with Mango, a pit bull, at the SBS K-9 training center. This is a second chance at love story since Brett will be asked to protect Anita Reyes, a chef and owner of a South Beach restaurant who has witnessed a murder. I love second chance at love stories and can’t wait to write this story! I’m also already working on a new proposal that takes SBS cousins Sophie and Robbie to Colorado to visit with their cousin Jax, who was the hero in Cold Case Reopened! I hope my editor is interested in revisiting those characters because I want to share what’s happening with them!

Sexy Billionaire from Biscayne Bay Breach

I wanted a different kind of hero for Mia Gonzalez, the baby of the South Beach Security family. In Biscayne Bay Breach, Mia is reunited with soon-to-be tech billionaire John Wilson who has written a computer program that he feels could be dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands. John has come to SBS to safeguard the program and along the way, it becomes apparent someone is trying to eliminate all the SBS members of the Gonzalez family. It was fun to create this second chance at love story as well as John and Mia, reluctant heroes who truly rise to the occasion to solve the mystery and keep everyone safe. This is how I pictured John from the book, maybe even having breakfast with Mia at the News Cafe! You can find out more about Biscayne Bay Breach and the other books in this romantic suspense series from Harlequin Intrigue at https://amzn.to/408wOZK.
