#ManCandyMonday Jack Huston, Ben Hur and Boardwalk Empire

My husband turned me on to Boardwalk Empire and I’ve been catching up the first four seasons so that they two of us can finish the rest of the seasons together. I’m surprised I didn’t get to it sooner since I love the history of the Jersey Shore and its role during Prohibition. In fact, those two elements played major roles in GHOST OF A CHANCE and my story in A VAMPIRE FOR CHRISTMAS.

Today’s Man Candy is one of the actors from that series and the remake of BEN-HUR that just released this weekend: Jack Huston.

In Boardwalk Empire, Jack plays Richard Harrow, a physically disfigured military vet who gets caught up in the intrigues of Prohibition in Atlantic City when he is befriended by another vet who brings him to Atlantic City. He did such an awesome job in that role, that we’ll definitely go to watch Ben-Hur (although I wonder why anyone would try to remake a classic that still has a record 11 Oscars.)

Interesting fact about Jack: He is both British and Hollywood royalty. His mother is Lady Margot Lavinia (Cholmondeley) and on his paternal side he is the grandson of famed Hollywood direction John Huston.

#ManCandyMonday Olympian David Oliver

With the Olympics in full swing I thought it was time to pick an Olympian for today’s Man Crush Monday. Say hi to David Oliver, Team USA Hurdler in the 2008 Olympic Games where he won a Bronze. David is also a world champion at various international competitions and boy does he have an awesome smile. You can find out more about David at davidoliversub13.com

#ManCandyMonday Liam Hemsworth

I’m working on SINCE WE WERE 18 (the tentative title for #1 in the Jersey Girl Bridesmaids series) and the brother of the hero is a laid-back, thrill-seeking, surfer-type dude. His name is Johnson, but everyone calls him J for a variety of reasons. I’ve been thinking of who I might cast to play J and Liam Hemsworth came to mind. Welcome Liam to Man Crush Monday!

#ManCandyMonday The Last Ship & Bren Foster

Today’s Man Candy is Australian Bren Foster from TNT’s THE LAST SHIP. Besides being an actor, Bren is a martial arts expert who holds black belts in Tae Kwondo, Hapkido, and Hwarangdo and is a Tae Kwando world champion. He has appeared on the Discovery Channel filming extreme martial arts and on National Geographic’s FIGHT SCIENCE.

From the moment Bren came on screen as Taylor in THE LAST SHIP, I was hooked! What a sexy beast! Here is a photo from Bren’s Facebook Page (thank you!).

#ManCandyMonday Congratulations Hall of Famer Mike Piazza

I love Mike Piazza! I have his jersey. His and David Wright’s. Two great guys who played with all their heart for the Mets.

Mike was signed to the Dodgers as a favor, but he soon earned his spot with his powerful hitting. In fact, he’s the best hitting catcher of all time.

My most memorable moment of Mike as a Met was at the first game being held at Shea Stadium after September 11th. With the Mets down in the eighth inning, Mike came up to the plate and hit a home run to give the Mets the lead over the Braves.

Mike spent over eight years with the Mets and was inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend as a Met, joining Tom Seaver as the only other Met in the Hall of Fame.

You go, Mike! You can click here to read highlights from Mike’s emotional and wonderful Hall of Fame speech.

#ManCandyMonday Giancarlo Stanton

I’m back from San Diego and boy did I have a blast. The All Star Game has inspired me to finish up the next baseball book and I had an amazing time attending workshops, talking with friends about work and life, and meeting new people at the RWA Conference. I’ll be sharing some photos tomorrow from all the events.

For today, since I’m in baseball mode, I’ve got sexy Giancarlo Stanton up at the plate. He might be a Mets killer with the might swing of his bat, but he is a hottie!

#ManCandyMonday Hottie Zac Efron

When my daughter and I first saw Zac in SUMMERLAND (which had a lot of really cute guys), we both thought he was adorable and now he’s grown up into a major hottie. I almost feel a little guilty choosing someone so young, but he’s definitely Man Candy material nowadays. I’m looking forward to the reboot of BAYWATCH with him and Dwayne Johnson, another total hottie.

Plus, not only does Zac look good in a bathing suit, he really knows how to dress. Check him out at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. And those baby blues. . . Just love them!
