Happy Mardi Gras! Did you know that Mardi Gras means “Fat Tuesday” and that the day earned its name because people would eat richer foods (and probably more of them) in preparation for the fasting that would occur during Lent? As you know, Mardi Gras is also celebrated with various parades and festivals across the world like New Orleans. It also happens to be New Orleans’ 300th Birthday!
