#ThrowbackThursday Baseball is in the Blood

You could say baseball is in our blood. We all love to play and watch baseball. I used to play catcher in high school and my husband was an outfielder for his Little League team. My daughter was a mean third baseman, just like her fav player, the Mets’ David Wright. Speaking of the Mets, so sad. I’m convinced I’m a jinx. Every time that I’ve had division playoff tickets, they’ve lost. I won’t buy them again. Sigh.

Anyway, today’s throwback is to my daughter during her high school playing days.

#WriteWed The Boys of Summer & Jersey Girls

I love baseball which is what led me to write two baseball-themed books that you’ll see later in the year as part of the Jersey Girls Contemporary Romance series. I love the strategy of the game. I love that you can be any height or size to play. I love the uniforms, especially on cuties like David Wright.

Last night I got to go to the Mets-Phillies game with my daughter and here are some photos for you! But before I go – It’s also the release day for the Jersey Girls Contemporary Romance Series #1. If you like sensual and emotional stories, I think you’ll like these novels with sexy heroes, smart women, and a glimpse of some very different parts of New Jersey! You can order the box set here:

#ManCandyMonday David Wright #MLBOpeningDay

It’s the day I’ve been waiting months for: OPENING DAY!

It’s a rainy one here in NY/NJ, so I’m hoping my Mets will be able to get the game in, but I doubt it.

But because it’s that special day, there is only one choice for today’s #ManCandyMonday! DAVID WRIGHT.

I love David. I love his work ethic and leadership. I love his boyishness, totally evident in this shot from 2007 Spring Training with his cap all askew. I love that he loves baseball. You can see that his whole heart is in the game.

My daughter loves him as well! Take a peek!

Guilty Pleasure Cliff Lee

It’s that time of year when a girl’s fancy turns to . . .

Baseball! So today’s Guilty Pleasure Monday is one of my favorite baseball players, Philadelphia Phillie Cliff Lee. I had so been hoping that the Mets would be able to acquire him, but with their financial issues, Cliff went to the Phillies. Don’t even think the Mets were even in the running to get him, although they sure could use some strong starting pitchers.

How about you? Do you have any other baseball favorites you’d like to share? Like David Wright? Or Jason Werth? How about Mr. Utley?

David Wright Redux!

There are some cuties that are worth a second look, so today is David Wright Redux on this Guilty Pleasure Monday.

My daughter showed me this hilarious video with David and Mike the Situation from JERSEY SHORE (I so hate the portrayal of the Shore on that show!)

But, it is a funny take on how David steps up his off-season training with Mike the Situation!

I have only one question for the Vitamin Water people – Why can’t we see David with his shirt off?

If you can’t see the video below, you can click here to see the David Wright Vitamin Water spoof or cut and paste this link into your browser:

Love his work ethic and dedication to the sport. Love baseball. Come the summer time, everyone in the family sits down to watch the games almost every night. We also head to the local minor league/independent league ball clubs during the summer. Mostly to the Bridgewater Patriots.

I love baseball so much I even did two books way back when for Kensington. They never got published, but I’m hoping they’ll see the light of day in the future.

Back to David. He was signed by the Mets in 2001 and made his major league debut in 2004. He’s been an All-Star three times already (2006/7/8) and has won two Golden Gloves (2007/8). Gotta love the talent, but also the determination he shows on the ball field.

Even though the Mets have been struggling this year, David is currently batting .346. That’s awesome.

I hope you enjoyed this morning’s Guilty Pleasure.
