It was a busy weekend what with the Liberty States Fiction Writers conference and a post conference movie date with a good friend and my lovely daughter. What movie? Beauty and the Beast, of course. The animated feature was always one of our favs (closely followed by Anastasia which we will be seeing on Broadway shortly!)
I wasn’t sure what to make of the actor playing the Beast/Prince. I have to say that the transformation at the end surprised me in a good way. I won’t spill in case you haven’t seen the movie yet.
So today’s Man Candy Choice is Dan Stevens, the Beast/Prince. (And FYI – Emma Watson was the perfect Belle!)
Almost three years ago I released The Prince’s Gamble, a romantic suspense story set in Atlantic City.
I’m happy to say that I’ll be re-releasing that novel in early June. The re-release will include a print version of the book for those of you who love to have them as keepers. I’ll also be re-releasing the second book in the series, To Catch a Princess, in July.
Many of you had been asking whether there would be a third story in the series with the thief from To Catch a Princess and I’m happy to say “Yes!” Once I finish writing Embrace the Night, the next book in the Take a Chance series, I’ll get to work on a story for the thief.

THE PRINCE'S GAMBLE Romantic Suspense Help Rebuild the Shore Campaign
I’m so excited about my upcoming romantic suspense release TO CATCH A PRINCESS. It’s sexy and emotional. Action-packed. Set in the very elegant and over-the-top principality of Monaco. Plus, I love not only laid back Detective Peter Roman, but the very determined and in charge woman that Tatiana has become. You may remember her as Alexander’s little sister in THE PRINCE’S GAMBLE.
But I also fell in love with thief in the book, so you know my mind is already wondering what to do about him in the future!

There is a scene in THE PRINCE’S GAMBLE where Prince Alexander decides to show FBI Agent Kathleen Martinez just how liberated a man he can be by making her dinner. I guess he hoped to woo his way into her heart by way of her stomach!
I shared the prince’s sour cream chicken recipe a couple of Tuesdays ago and now I’m going to share the recipe for the apricot and almost rice pilaf he made!
Ingredients:
2 cups rice (you can use brown rice. I also wash the rice several times but that is a matter of choice)
4 cups broth (chicken or vegetable)
1-2 onions (medium to small. You can substitute shallots here!)
1/2 cup diced apricots
1/3 toasted slivered almonds
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Directions:
Heat the butter and olive oil in a pot. Add onions and saute until onions are translucent, but not brown. Add the rice and cook until just turning golden. Add the broth and bring to a boil. Once it’s boiling, reduce to a low simmer and add the diced apricots. Once all the liquid is absorbed, fluff with a fork and add the toasted almonds. You don’t want to add them too early because they will get mushy!
Serve with the sour cream chicken or any kind of chicken. You can also use brown rice or quinoa in the recipe. Possibly even check out using couscous.

Unfortunately, the lawyers for the warehouse owners – the Ivanov family – have been stonewalling their entry into the building.
I hope you’ll enjoy this scene and when you’re done, you’ll understand why Kathleen is less than enthusiastic about helping Prince Alexander, scion of the Ivanov family, when he’s got a problem at his new casino in Atlantic City.
