Guilty Pleasure Monday – Eric Bana and our first blog b’day winner!

I must confess I heard mixed buzz about TROY, but finally gave in and bought the DVD. I so hated Brad Pitt’s role in this movie and nothing about the incredibly buffed bod could make up for it, except . . .

Today’s Guilty Pleasure Eric Bana. He just stole the show! Totally heroic and sexy. I was like WOW! This is a man!!

You can catch Eric now in THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL with Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen.

What else is up for today? The first winner of this week’s B’day Blog celebration: Alyssa! Happy belated b’day to you as well and I’ll be emailing you to get your book selection and address.

  5. Twelve hours doesn’t even count…now if you had said 12 years older…that would have been interesting;) Happy Belated Birthday anyway!

  6. Wow I like to see movies but I like to wait for them to come out on DVD becauseI can run them back. I will probalby go see the new Indinia jones movie when it comes out

  7. Happy belated birthday Caridad! I saw Troy once again since we had some work to do about it in college, during philosophy class lol. I don’t like Brad Pitt’s role in that movie, but I must say that he isn’t such a bad sight 😛

  10. Eric Bana is awesome, and I love his acting. I also enjoy reading your books. I guess great minds were born in March as I just had my Birthday Yesterday! Happy Birthday March babies!

  11. Happy belated Birthday(s)!!! And Alyssa too (my youngest is Alysa and always gets it misspelled). Brad never was a favorite and he really isn’t now – just saw the Jessie James movie he was in and it was very strange. But I do enjoy the body hahaha.

  12. A Very Happy Birthday!

I recently picked up a book by you (Secret Agent Reunion) at a fundraising book sale. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. What a great read! I have since picked-up a couple more titles, and plan on embarking on a catch-up reading weekend.

Thank you for such fun reads!

  13. Happy Birthday!

I had no desire to see Troy. I’ll have to wait for an Eric fix in The Other Boleyn Girl. I think that looks like it’s gonna be good!

  14. I share this birthday month with my twin boys who are St Paddy’s Day babies. So you can imagine that my focus is more about their wild and crazy day and all the festivities involved than worring about my celebration. Though I never say no to cake!!

  15. Happy belated birthdays.Seems like a lot of people are born in March. There’s 3 in my family and my son missed being a March baby by 20 minutes.i really enjoy your books!

  16. How cool that we are both March birthday babies!!! Mine is this Friday. I read “The Other Boleyn Girl”, it’s good as historical fiction, but leaves you wondering. I’ll wait for the movie to come out on DVD then I’ll rent it. Wonder if you’re watching the Henry VIII Showtime series. That’s pretty good. Henry is a lusty old codger!

  17. I just LOVE Eric Bana too! I must admit, I haven’t seen Troy, but you have piqued my curiosity! 🙂
WOW!! It’s a great day here in NC!!

  18. Belated birthday greetings to all! Please tell
your hubby that 12 hours is not a lot when
compared to the five years between my
    age and Honey’s! (I’m older!)

    Pat Cochran

  19. Belated Happy Birthday. This week holds my husband’s birthday and our 28th anniversary, so we will be celebrating all week, too.

  20. Happy belated birthday to you and hubby! Will have to watch Troy now that you have captured interest. Congrats to Alyssa!

  21. Hi, Caridad!! Happy Birthday!!
March is a busy, busy month for B days.
My birthday is March 20th~~the first day of Spring. I was born on my Grandmother’s birthday…how cool is that?

  22. Hi caridad Happy B-day to you and yours, and congrats on all the nominations! Ive been collecting all the calling series so i could read them in order, and I just finished the first one. It was so great!! It’s amazing how much deatail you fit into a limited number of pages,I look forward to reading the whole series.

  23. Happy belated Birthday Caridad & everyone else 🙂

Your’re right about Brad Pitt in Troy, BORING!
    Except for Eric Bana, WOW!
That is a body to watch & talented too 😉

    Mindy 🙂

  24. Happy Birthday to You Caridad and everyone else! I am certainly NO Brad Pitt fan but saw the Other Boleyn Girl and was quite smitten with Eric Bana. I will be looking for other movies with him in them for sure. Also I just adore the Vampire theme. You go Girl!

  25. Happy birthday, feliz cumpleanos, etc….and many, many more! After all, we want you to keep writing! LOL

Hope it was a great one. We have a grandson with a birthday on March 2, and oldest son (his dad) on March 21.

    {{{big hugs from Texas}}}

  26. Happy belated bday to both of you! Hope you both had a fantastic time (and didnt do anything the rest of us wouldnt do!!) **winks**

  27. Ya should have waited on buying the DVD. Troy was on oe of the cable channels all weekend for free!

These grittier than they used to be historical stories have absolutely nothing on the old Maciste movies…those guys had muscles on top of muscles.

    I know, I need help….

  28. Happy belated Birthday, Caridad.
I haven’t seen TROY. Brad Pitt has become such a joke now that he’s with Angelina. I use to think both were decent until they got together. Can you say…side show?!
I want to read THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL before I see the movie. Do you watch THE TUDORS on Showtime? I love it!
Anywho, hope you got lots of prezzies for your b’day. Thanks for inviting me to your blog party. 🙂

  29. Historically it was nice to have a visual representation of what it might have been like during the invasion, but, yeah, nothing to write mother about.

I’m not too crazy about Eric Bana, though. Ditto for Brad. I’m not a big fan of either. They’re great looking men, but I’m not into either of them.

  30. Happy Belated Birthday. Troy was not too bad of a movie (nothing to write home about) but I agree that Eric Bana was the best eye candy in the movie. We need more like him in every movie to look at.

  31. Happy Birthday to you..
    Happy Birthday to you..

YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED to know that on your birthday in 1926, the average pay for common labor in the U.S. was 54 cents an hour…OR MAYBE NOT.

  32. Happy Birthday Alyssa.
Thanks for sharing the picture of Eric Bana. I agree. He looks amazing.

  33. Happy Belated Birthday! Boy it sounds like your birthday is to your family (with buying all the presents and parties) is kinda like what Christmas time is for the rest of us. Do you take a vacation to recover from all the birthdays? I sure would. I hope everyone had a very special day and got their birthday wishes. God Bless

  34. Happy Belated B-day! March is a busy month…I had a birthday yesterday and there are four others in my family celebrating this month! As for Troy…loved Eric Bana, but I have to admit that Brad Pitt is the one that really did it for me!

  35. You being older does have its perks Hun, you get to indulge in all those guilty pleasures FIRST and make the DH suffer…of course this could work against you but there’s always next year LOL

  36. My mother and daughter share their birthdate of 12/31. My nephew’s daughter was due around then also, but his wife got tired of waiting and their daughter was born 12/29 or we would have had three generations on the same day!
p.s. I am 8 DAYS older than my husband – and keep getting reminded that I robbed the cradle!

  37. Charity, I think it matters more that you LOOK 12 hours younger than Bob than that you ARE 12 hours older!
Hope you had a great day.

  38. Happy Belated Birthday! I must admit, I’ve always been afraid to watch “Troy” because, well, the story of the Iliad without any of the gods in it? That’s just wrong. But Eric Bana in that still almost changes my mind; Hector is my favorite character anyhow.

  39. Happy Belated birthday to you and DH. Hope you had a wonderful day.

May all your dreams and wishes come true

    Hugs

  40. When a birthday is celebrated by both husband and wife do you celebrate it as you do an anniversary? If not do you have two cakes, a split cake with a his and a hers side, and who gets to open any gifts first–oldest first, youngest first, lady before gentleman, or considering equal rights both at once? It’s a conundrum!
