#ThrowbackThursday A Visit to Sunnydale High School

For those of you who watched the show, you’ll recognize that facade immediately. For others, a little background. I was flipping through the channels one day when I caught this amazingly sensual scene between a young blonde girl and a very hunky guy. Buffy and Angel. I flipped away, but then had to go back and watch. That was it! I was hooked! I went back and caught up with every show I had missed and faithfully followed Buffy the Vampire Slayer for all the remaining seasons. To this day it is my favorite show of all time and as a writer, I learned a lot about dialogue, character-building and pushing boundaries.

To honor my love of the show, I convinced my family to take a trip with me to Torrance High School, the real life location of the fictional Sunnydale High School where the shot was set in the early seasons. You’ll notice that to make it truly official, I wore my Sunnydale High School t-shirt! And in case you haven’t guess it by now, I am truly a nerd at heart. (I was also a lot blonder and thinner in case you didn’t notice! LOL)

Subway Takes a Wrong Turn?

Imagine waking up to this outside your door!

LOL! April Fool! This is actually a staged shot done for April Fool’s Day in Copenhagen, a most beautiful city. Apparently Gevalia coffee does a series of ads where their name pops up on various vehicles. Kind of funny!

Thanks to Lars [email protected] for releasing this into the public domain.

On a more serious note: NO SNOW! At least not in NYC and my neck of the NJ Woods. It’s even a little warmer, maybe a sign that Spring will finally arrive. Maybe. Hopefully. Please, please, please come soon!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. As for me, I’m working on new holiday vampire novella for Harlequin. I’ve got it almost there, but am tweaking some parts to make certain elements clearer. It’s a radical departure for me in the vampire world, I think. Very different from THE CALLING vampire novels. More similar to MORE THAN A MISSION in terms of style, sexiness and emotion. Here’s hoping my editor likes it.

Luke has been in several movies and television shows. I first remember seeing Luke on The X-Files when he caught Agent Scully’s eye as a local sheriff. He caught my eye as well!

Look for Luke this year in a movie called TENURE. Also check out VACANCY with Luke and Kate Beckinsale. Quite a scary little movie!

DragonCon Spirit Orbs and a challenge!

Had lots to do at DragonCon, but as you know from the last few days on the blog, I was able to go out and enjoy the wondrous costumes created by some of the attendees. As I was uploading my photos on the first day, I noticed something unusual on one of the photos – orbs.

You may remember our discussion about spirit orbs from last year (you can click here for that blog post). So while I was uploading to Facebook, I mentioned the orbs to my friend Joy Nash and lo and behold – she had similar orbs on her shot of the same people! You can check them out down below.

This is my shot of the angel couple. I’ve circled the orbs for you.

This is Joy’s shot of the orbs where I’ve circled 3 orbs as well.

Dust? Pollen? Did I mention that none of our other photos seemed to have these orbs?

Luckily, Dave Tango from the Ghost Hunters happened by our booth and my friend Shannon talked to him about the orbs. Probably dust or pollen, Dave said. He explained that digital cameras interpret what they are seeing and make shapes out of things like dust. But he did say that if the two shots were taken at different times and different locations, that might warrant some further investigation.

Here’s a picture of Dave and me at the booth!

So how about you? Do you believe in spirit orbs? If you were at DragonCon and got a picture of this angel couple, do you have orbs? If so, please send me an e-mail with the photo. You can click here to contact me!
