Good morning and welcome to the 2016 Christmas Village. I decided to show you this year the step-by-step to getting the village all set up. Some of you may wonder how many hours it takes. From getting out the boxes to the final “Lights on” I would say about 10 hours over two nights. I still have some mini-lights to get on the village as I ran out of batteries. Sigh. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.
4th of July #JerseyShore
Hope you all had a great 4th of July! We had lots of fun down the Shore! Beautiful beach days, being a part of the 4th of July Parade in Ocean Grove and fireworks. I love fireworks!
So today I’m sharing some photos from the weekend!

#ThrowbackThursday The Easter Parade
When I was younger we lived in Queens and I remember coming into Manhattan several times for the Easter Parade. We would walk along Fifth Avenue seeing everyone in their Easter hats and then go by Rockefeller Center to check out all the lovely flowers. One year we went to see The Sound of Music and it was a very moving experience for me since I so identified with the Von Trapp family and having to leave home.
This is a picture of my mom, sister, me and my grandmother in the Rockefeller Center Promenade. Don’t look too happy in this one, but these trips were always fun!
#ThrowbackThursday Christmas Village 2010 and this year’s village!
Wow, counting down to Christmas Eve. Lights are up. Tree is up. Gifts are being wrapped and the Christmas Village is up. I changed it up a little this year from year’s past so today’s Throwback Thursday is a look at the 2010 village as well as photos from this year’s village!

#WriteWed New York City Inspiration
I’ve set a few stories in Manhattan, including one at Christmas time that I plan to re-release next year. This is one of the most fun times to be in New York City. Today’s photos are of Bryant Park, the NY Public Library and Rockefeller Center. Click here if you cannot see the video below.
Happy Boxing Day!
Boxing Day is not something we normally celebrate in the U.S., but a number of people have off today since Christmas fell on a Thursday. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. We had a wonderful time and I did manage to get all the presents wrapped, finishing the food shopping, prepare the meal and more importantly, celebrate the holiday with family and friends.
I’ve got some photos for you from the holiday table, tree, Christmas village and our new little kitten. If you can’t see the post below, click here to visit the photo album.
#ManCandyMonday Holiday Santa & Christmas Photos
I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year! This is a busy time of the year so I hope you’ll excuse me a slightly erratic blog schedule until January 5 when things will calm down and be back to normal. I’m still wrapping and decorating and tomorrow is our big day to go get the Cuban specialities for the Christmas Eve dinner. Tomorrow is also the day I start cooking for all the guests that we are going to have for the holiday. I can’t wait, but for now, I want to leave you with this tasty Man Candy Santa and some photos from our annual trip to New York City to see the decorations.
