Laughing Corgis or Fun-loving Beagles

One of the most fun parts of writing the K-9 series is choosing the dog that fits each story. For CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING, I turned the idea of a K-9 agent on its head by having a K-9 unit dropout corgi. That’s because that story needed a dog that would bring emotional relief, and a corgi, with its always-grinning, almost laughing face, was perfect. For my upcoming December release, K-9 TRACKER, I needed a good scent dog to help find a missing soldier. Although I always associate beagles with Snoopy and my husband’s overweight pet Spotty, beagles are great scent dogs, and also fun-loving. A good mix for a story that has a lot of emotion since the heroine is dealing with her father’s disappearance and her mother’s illness. A bit of comic relief, along with great scenting skills was a perfect fit. So, which dog do you love best: a corgi or a beagle? P.S.
