My Favorite Foods! Share Your Favs!

Everyone has their favorite foods that they would choose almost every time. With my Cuban heritage, my favs lean in that direction. A tasty Cuban sandwich. Roast pork (essential for the sandwich LOL!) Ropa vieja, a flavorful dish of shredded beef in tomato sauce. Maduros, those sweet ripe plantains that everyone devours on Christmas Eve. You may know that food sometimes plays a big role in my books, like South Beach Love which has the two chefs and More than a Mission where the heroine is a chef. Favorite Dresses for the Blushing Bride

Good morning! Now that the Super Bowl is over, it’s time to discuss some really important things like what’s the right dress for a blushing bride like Emma from Never a Bride. As a wedding planner, Emma has to deal with all kinds of women, including some pretty awful bridezillas. The funny thing is that even though Emma is a wedding planner, she doesn’t believe in happily ever after and she also can’t see that her Prince Charming is right in front of her nose. But if Emma was going to plan her own wedding, what would she choose? A simple gown or one that was very fancy? What about you? What would you choose? I had a very simple cocktail length dress while my daughter had a gorgeous gown. Both were the right choices for us. Happy Year of the Dragon

It’s the start of the Lunar New Year and this year is the year of the Dragon. People born under the sign of the dragon are ambitious and have a great sense of humor. They are also rule breakers which means they are not afraid of challenges. Because of that, they often succeed at what they do!

I was born in the year of the dog which means I am loyal, honest, and responsible. But on the downside, I can be stubborn and sometimes a little selfish.

Amazing Visit to Yongin Dae Jang Geum Park

We saw so many amazing places in and around Seoul, Korea. If you get a chance to visit this wonderful country, DO IT! The sights range from ancient temples and palaces to ultra-modern you-can’t-believe buildings. One of the interesting locations I visited was Yongin Dae Jang Geum Park on the outskirts of Seoul. It’s not a “park” in the traditional sense in that it’s a vast area owned by MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation). MBC is a South Korean television and radio broadcaster and uses the park to produce an assortment of historical dramas, and the site has also been used to film music videos like “Daechwita” by BTS member Suga.

The park has areas reflecting three different Korean dynasties and we were able to all the different areas which were actually quite different in style. By the time we reached the end of the tour, we ran into a movie crew that was getting ready to film another of MBC’s historical dramas. I even got a picture of one of a young boy who was taking part in the production. It was so interesting and I could imagine using this location as a setting for the new romantic suspense book I want to write, and which will be set in Korea.

Picture this (said in a Sophia voice): The hero, a baseball player who is also working for the CIA, meets the heroine in the ancient amphitheater where a party is being held by the billionaire who may just be a traitor selling secrets to North Korea and the Chinese. But is the heroine in on that duplicity as well?

Hopefully, I’ll get to work on that soon, but in the meantime, if you’re looking for a cinematic kind of read, check out Darkness Calls, my very first vampire suspense book.
