Galentine’s or Valentines?

Happy Galentine’s Day! My family and I are big Parks & Rec fans, and I love Leslie Knope’s ever-optimistic view on life. I have many female friends and totally value their friendship and spending time with them! But I don’t normally celebrate Galentine’s Day, unlike Valentine’s Day, when hubby and I are going out to dinner for Thai food. It’s not something we normally do, which makes it a special treat. This or That: Print Books or Audiobooks?

So much has changed in the publishing industry since my first book was published in 1999. Wow! So long ago. We’re lucky to have so many choices on how to read, from print books to e-books to audiobooks. I confess I still love having a print book in my hand. I’ll open an e-book only if I don’t have a print book or am unexpectedly waiting for something. I’m a very visual person, so audiobooks are not my thing, although I love listening to a good podcast while I’m driving. How about you? Do you like print books or audiobooks? P.S. Happy National Pizza Day

Happy National Pizza Day! I love pizza, and even though we’re trying to watch our carbs, we had pizza on Friday. It was Jersey Shore-style pizza, which means it was quite thin. It’s become our new fav since we downsized and moved to the shore. When I was in school in Philly, the pizza was doughier and not generally sold by the slice, unlike the New York-style pizza I grew up with. What about you? Do you love pizza? Favorite Winter Comfort Food

We’re seeing new and dare I say, historic low temps along the Jersey Shore! I don’t think I remember cold like this in a long time, which means it’s time to make something warm and stick-to-your-ribs for dinner. Today I’m making braised short ribs with cheese grits, but normally, my favorite winter comfort food is soup. Any kind of soup.
