A Reader Lives a Thousand Lives

I have always been an avid reader, and I learned so much from those books. I met new people in different worlds, and that opened me up to so many new things. That’s why I think George R.R. Martin is so right when he says that “A reader lives a thousand lives.” So true! We experience so much in everything we read, even the cereal box! LOL! P.S. COLD CASE K-9 is on shelves, and it’s getting rave reviews from readers. If you don’t already have your copy, grab it today at https://amzn.to/48qzo4R. Even better, you can also pre-order BURIED TRUTHS, my May release, at https://amzn.to/49WbUnv.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I’m sure people are already thinking about what to do for their loved ones. A nice dinner out? Some flowers? Chocolate? Jewelry maybe? Hubby and I like to keep it simple and usually just make a nice dinner at home and exchange chocolates of some kind. What about you? Flowers, chocolate, or something different? P.S. Happy National Pie Day

Happy National Pie Day! I know we’ve chatted in the past about our favorite kinds of pie. I prefer fruit pies like apple or cherry, but an occasional pecan pie is awesome! But here’s an important pie question: A la mode or not? I definitely love a good fruit pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. What about you? Yes or no to pie a la mode? P.S. If you need something to read while eating that delicious pie, grab your copy of COLD CASE K-9 today! It’s available at https://amzn.to/4q0cLdA.

Baby Cari and My Grandmother

We had to leave many things behind in Cuba when we escaped Castro’s communist regime, so I don’t have many photos from my early life. That makes the few photos that I have even more precious. This photo is of my grandmother and me. She was an amazing woman! After my parents had to flee to avoid being put in jail, my grandparents watched my sister and me in Cuba, and then took us all around Central America and Mexico until we could enter the U.S. legally. After, she took care of us since my mom had to work to support our family. She was a rock in my world, and I miss her to this day.
