Weekend Flower Fun
In spring I headed out to the Holland Ridge Farm to check out their tulip fields. Yesterday I took a break from final edits on my draft to go back to Holland Ridge for the fall display of gladiolas, dahlias, sunflowers, and mums! It was a beautiful fall day and we traipsed around the lovely flowers and picked some for a bouquet. Celebrating 23 years of being published
September is drawing to a close but before it goes, I wanted to celebrate that it’s been 23 years since my very first book was released. Now and Always helped launch the Encanto romance novel line and it was such a special time for me. Because of the launch, I appeared on a number of television shows and there were numerous press articles about the launch of the line. It was so exciting! I had my first book signing and was so happy to have my daughter to share that special event with me. I look forward to many more book signings, including with my very talented daughter, and to seeing some of you at those book signings.
Guess what this is?
I love walking along the water’s edge and seeing what kinds of shells I can find. I have jars filled with shells from all the beaches I’ve been lucky enough to visit. Hubby also keeps an eye out for me and this time he located the object below. We’ve been trying to figure out what it is and don’t really have a clue other than that it’s something that’s clearly been touched by human hands. So I’m reaching out to all of you to see if any of you can guess what this is!
Eagerly Trying to Stay Organized
Since we’ve downsized space has become an issue so we’ve set up some basic rules on how to keep from getting cluttered. The first rule is that when something new comes in something old has to go out. That applies to a whole bunch of things, including books sadly. Another thing that I’ve tried to do is watch the pennies, especially with all that’s happening with the economy. So I’d been eyeballing this set of dishware at Costco all summer long, but I refused to buy it unless it went on sale. It didn’t and disappeared from stores but guess what? It was on special online and there was no fee for shipping so I bought it! Pennies pinched but now I have to deal with getting rid of something else. Sigh. Time to look through all the kitchen plates and clear out other things to make room for the new plates. I can’t wait to use them next summer with their seaside theme just like my At the Shore series. Meet Frijoles and Butter from Rescue at Redland Ranch
I’m putting the finishing touches on the first book in the South Beach Security K-9 series, tentatively titled Rescue at Redland Ranch. The K-9 hero of that story is Butter, a female Belgian Malinois. The heroine is Teresa Ramirez, the owner of a racehorse stable who is being threatened by a former trainer which is why she’s called in SBS for protection. The hero, Matt Perez, was a dog handler in the Marines and a former police officer who worked with Trey Gonzalez. You meet Trey in Lost in Little Havana as he’s trying to figure out who murdered his partner and keep undercover detective Roni Lopez safe while they investigate the murder and a human trafficking ring. Lost in Little Havana is available for pre-order right now and releases on November 29, 2022. Rescue at Redland Ranch will hopefully be available in 2023.
