#WriteWed Summer & My Little Balcony

My favorite time of year is the summer! I look forward to long strolls along the boardwalk, time spent reading romance novels on the beach, fireworks, and last but not least, writing on my little balcony.

It’s not big in size, but it’s immense in the peace it brings me as I sit out there writing or just hanging out with my hubby, enjoying a summer day.

I write a lot more on that little balcony than I do during the winter months when I’m trapped indoors by the cold. Brrr. Winter is so not my favorite time of year.

This morning I’m sharing with you some photos from that special space and hoping I can go out there again soon!

#ManCandyMonday Prince Harry & Military Men

Good morning! Hope you are all off to a good start to the week! I don’t know about you, but I think military men are sexy and while I was pondering who to share with you this morning it came to me – Prince Harry! He has been in the news lately about leaving the military, but during his time there, he has done a great deal to work with wounded soldiers. So today’s Man Candy is none other than one of the sexiest red-headed men out there in uniform!

#FunFriday Create Something Magical Conference & First Day of Spring

Woo hoo spring is here . . . oh wait, snow is on the way. Sigh. Just a little longer and maybe it will warm up!

In the meantime, I’ll warm up with some friends at the Create Something Magical Conference this weekend. I can’t wait to hear some of the panels, rub elbows with the readers and other authors, and spend time with my best friend, my daughter. Besides owning a fabulous surf and skate shop, she’s also an aspiring author. She self-published FOLLOWING JANE and she’ll be pitching her new book this weekend to some editors.

Very exciting.

To try and keep us optimistic that spring really is here, I’m sharing some flowers with you!

#ThrowbackThursday CJ Hollenbach & Me!

Many years ago I had one of the better known cover models for one of my releases – CJ Hollenbach! CJ is such a sweet man and when I ran into him years later at an RT Convention, this Prince Charming posed for this picture with me.

CJ was supposed to be on the cover of ALL MY LOVE, but at the last minute the cartoony cover craze had them switch it out. Here are the original covers!

ALL MY LOVE Cartoon cover

I’ve since edited and re-released ALL MY LOVE which is now available for pre-order as TAMING THE BACHELOR. This novel is specially priced at 99 cents until May 1.

#WriteWed I was a reader before I was a writer

Long before I was a writer, I was a reader. Some of my fondest memories are of reading the Sunday paper with the comics, going to the library, or anxiously standing on the corner waiting for the bookmobile to arrive.

Prince Valiant was my all time fav comic. I lost myself in those amazing images by Hal Foster of Valiant fighting to save his people while falling in love with the fair Aleta. The illustrations in the strip are amazing and I loved reading the stories and making up my own action-adventure romance as I fell asleep at night. I should have known then that I was meant to put my stories on paper in the future.

This strip was first published in 1937 and is still syndicated today to 300 American newspapers. The creator, Hal Forest, is a Hall of Fame cartoonist and illustrator. Thank you, Mr. Forest, for such wonderful memories.

As I mentioned earlier, another memory is of the blue Levittown bookmobile rolling up to the corner. I’d dash in to return the books I had borrowed and to find new books! I always had a book in my hands and when I wasn’t reading a book, I was reading the cereal box. LOL!

Here’s a picture of an early version of the library bookmobile.

I hope you enjoyed this Write Wednesday look at my days as a reader before I became a writer.

#TeaserTuesday Sweet Treats and One Night of Pleasure

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Seems like an appropriate day for a heroine named Bridget Sullivan who comes from a good Irish Catholic family. Although what she’s thinking of doing will likely send her mother running to church to say quite a few rosaries! LOL!

In this scene from ONE NIGHT OF PLEASURE, Bridget and Mark have been dancing and sharing dinner and it’s time for dessert. The passion has been building between them and it’s about to get serious!

Click here to read the excerpt from ONE NIGHT OF PLEASURE if you cannot see it below!

How about a little visual teaser?

I hope you enjoyed today’s #TeaserTuesday! You can purchase ONE NIGHT OF PLEASURE at the following retailers:
