TO CATCH A PRINCESS Cover Reveal & #Giveaway

I’ll be doing a cover reveal for my new romantic suspense release, TO CATCH A PRINCESS, in mid-August. If you wish to participate, please go to this link: http://bit.ly/12qDNc4

You will receive the cover, links to excerpt, and some buy links which you can post on your website, blog, Facebook, Myspace, Tumblr or anywhere else on the Net.

From all the participants in the cover reveal, I will pick one person to win a $50 gift card. Thank you.

Now it’s a little too soon to spill more about the book, but I will tell you that most of the action happens in the very glamorous and exciting principality of Monaco. Unfortunately I have not been able to visit, but there is a lovely website at www.visitmonaco.com that has lots of information and photos and I also got some great personal insights from Nicole Ceccato who is a native Monégasque. Thank you, Nicole!

Here is a lovely shot of the harbor in Monaco. A number of scenes in the book happen in and around this harbor.

FAITH IN YOU #FreeRead

I always tell people that I’m so impatient, I couldn’t even wait for the thimble of patience that was being handed out. So, even though I’ve got a big cover reveal planned for July 16th, I could not wait to share an excerpt with you from FAITH IN YOU, the sequel to NOW AND ALWAYS.

I knew even as I was writing NOW AND ALWAYS that Connie’s little sister Carmen had to find someone special to love. I also knew that Connie’s antagonist, FBI Agent Paul Stone, had a lot more going on that made him hero material in a future book. So that’s how FAITH IN YOU was born.

Why July 16th for the cover reveal? Well, Carmen is named after my sister and mom and July 16th is the saint’s day for the Virgin of Carmen, also known as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. In Spain and other Latin countries, there are many festivals to celebrate the patron saint of sailors and other mariners.

It seemed fitting to have the reveal on that saint’s day!

So without further ado, here is a free read from FAITH IN YOU, the story of Carmen and FBI Agent Paul Stone.

Help an Author! Leave a Review & 4th of July Photos

So sorry to miss #ManCandyMonday but I was playing catch up in a major way after a few days off! I promise you’ll like my choice for next week. I love him!

Anyway, a lot of people ask me what they can do to support their favorite authors and besides buying their books, the number one thing you can do is to leave a review for them. Reviews really make a different and help authors get the word out about their books.

That’s my public service message for today! LOL!

Anyway, as I mentioned, I did take off for a few days and I’m sharing some photos from the annual 4th of July parade in Ocean Grove, NJ and the fireworks from Bradley Beach, NJ. Hope you like them!

Garlic Basil Aioli

Aioli is a sauce that’s usually made with garlic, lemon juice, oil and egg yolks, much like a homemade mayonnaise. Some people even put dry mustard in it.

The usual way to make aioli is to crush the garlic, add the lemon juice, mix in the egg yolks and then while whisking, add the olive oil until you get a rich paste. Lots of work, so today I’m giving a cheat method for a delicious garlic basil aioli.

We were making simple burgers the other day and I wanted to dress them up and played around with this recipe. The results were delicious. You can also use this aioli on grilled chicken sandwiches for a bit of flavor and richness.

Garlic Basil Aioli

In a small mortar, add about 1/8 teaspoon salt. It’s not really for flavoring, but to assist with crushing the garlic.

Two cloves of garlic, chopped. Add to mortar and crush with the salt until you have almost a paste.

Add 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil. Crush together with garlic to make a paste.

Mince two or three leaves of basil. You can also add a few sprigs of parsley leaves if you want.

Add minced basil leaves to the garlic/salt/oil mixture. Crush some more.

Add 3 tablespoons mayonnaise. You can use light mayo here to cut down on calories.

Mix some more and voila!

You’ve got a tasty spread for your burgers, chicken or any other kind of sandwich you’d like to make. Even use it over some broiled fish or with potatoes.

#ManCandyMonday Nathan Fillion

Okay, I have to confess that this is another piece of Man Candy that it took me a while to appreciate.

I remember Nathan from his role as the Big Bad on Buffy in Season 7 and in Firefly. I didn’t really catch on to Firefly, but have lots of friends that love it and Serenity.

I did, however, get recently hooked on Castle and am furiously catching up on episodes. Nathan is so cute and charming and yes, sexy. I give up. I acknowledge that Nathan is worthy of the title of Man Candy. LOL!

How about you? Do you love him? Are you a fan of Firefly/Serenity/Castle?

Fall back Friday NOW AND ALWAYS Playlist

I had a very definite playlist in mind when I wrote NOW AND ALWAYS. The playlist was filled with songs that conjured up sultry tropical nights in Miami and the heartbreak of love that didn’t come easy.

So this Friday we’re falling back to the 1990s and Gloria Estefan’s Can’t Stay Away From You. I could so picture this being Connie’s song as she deals with all the love and angst of a relationship with Victor.

If you can’t see the video below, you can click here.

Behind the Scenes of NOW AND ALWAYS

My latest release, NOW AND ALWAYS, is set in Miami. As a kid, we always went to Miami in August to visit family and friends. It used to be a fun road trip as we made our way from New York, down the East Coast and eventually to Miami. We used to stay in South Beach back then, not because it was trendy, but because it was inexpensive. At one point we stopped staying there as the area had gotten too bad.

It’s nice to see South Beach revived to its Art Deco splendor. I was lucky enough to revisit South Beach a few years back and here are some of the photos from Ocean Drive and the South Beach area. In NOW AND ALWAYS, Connie gets an apartment in this area while she goes undercover and fights her attraction to sexy physician Victor.

This is a view of the beach from Lummus Park. The brightly colored lifeguard stands are a staple of the Miami Beaches.

South Beach Lummus Park

There are quite a number of glamorous hotels in South Beach. This is the pool area at the Loew’s Hotel. Lovely place right near Lincoln Drive. For those who read KISSED BY A VAMPIRE, lots of action in that book happens along Lincoln Drive, a pedestrian mall lined by restaurants, clubs, and stores.

Loew's Hotel

The smaller and older hotels are famous for their Art Deco style and neon. The neon throws its color into the tropical night, making it come alive.
