Tuesdays Off and THE CALLING Vampire Series

I may be taking Tuesdays off at the blog as I’m busy editing ROOKIE OF THE YEAR as well as developing the concept for BORN TO DIE which will be the next book in THE CALLING. I am so excited because this story will focus on Diana and Ryder and a momentous change that is about to happen in their lives. I plan to release BORN TO DIE in March 2012. Even more exciting, with BORN TO DIE I plan on relaunching THE CALLING series in a new direction. Think X-FILES meets BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. Each story will revolve around Diana and Ryder and the many characters you’ve come to know and love from THE CALLING. Each story will be a new and unique paranormal suspense and I hope you’ll like this new direction in the series.

For today, I leave you with a reminder about THE LOST blog tour! Today’s stop is at YzhaBella’s BookShelf and you can leave a comment there for a chance to win a copy of the ROOKIE OF THE YEAR e-book.

Sexy Men of Summer

It’s October and a girl’s thoughts turn to…BASEBALL! Again. Tuning it to watch all the playoff games and appreciating all those fine-looking men. Also working on edits to my baseball romance, ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. This contemporary romance had been acquired by Kensington Publishing many years ago and now that I’ve got my rights back, I’m ready to re-release it!

So with all these fine-looking men of summer, it’s tough to choose just one for today! Because of that, I’m sending you to Cosmopolitan for their choices for the 9 sexiest men on the ball field. You can click here or copy and paste this link:

I’ll forgive them for leaving off David Wright, Chase Utley, Cliff Lee and others, but they did provide some nice eye candy I had not known about before.

Remember that today starts THE LOST blog tour. Drop by and leave comments at each blog for a chance to win a LOST T-shirt and a copy of the e-book for ROOKIE OF THE YEAR when it’s released. We will be picking a winner at every blog.

In Death-Fest & Upcoming Blog Tours!

I have been on a major J.D. Robb-fest, trying to catch up on all the books I haven’t read so that I can get to my — SQUEEE — autographed copy of FROM NEW YORK TO DALLAS!! I’ve only got about 6 books to go and to be honest, I’m not sure I can wait that long. As it is, I’ve been reading them out of order due to time constraints and so I may just do the same with FROM NEW YORK TO DALLAS. Of course, I’m also tempted that once I do that, I’ll start reading the series all over again in order from book one which when reread rather recently was just as good as I remembered.

Anyway, that’s why today’s Thursday 13 is an In-Death Fest where I’m sharing the 13 characters and/or things that I love about the series in no particular order.

    1. Eve Dallas. Was there ever a more perfect heroine.
    2. Roarke. OMG. Can’t say much more. He melts my bones.
    3. Peabody. Love her as a sidekick. Just too awesome.
    4. McNab. His outfits are burned into my retinas.
    5. Feeney. Great father figure.
    6. Mira. As a substitute mom, she’s the best.
    7. The candy thief. I’m convinced it’s Roarke. There is a scene in CONSPIRACY IN DEATH where the candy bar disappears with only Roarke nearby and he chides her about eating better. In TREACHERY IN DEATH, Eve discovers her stash missing and Roarke admits just seconds later that he had broken into her office. Hmm. Too much coincidence for me.
    8. The love scenes. Soooo soooo hot and romantic.
    9. The murder cases. After an overload of crime-type stories on TV, it’s amazing that these are still interesting.
    10. The world of the NYPSD and Eve’s men and women. Little by little you’ve gotten to know each one and have seen them grow.
    11. NYC in the future with its glide carts and soy dogs. So can related to my favoritest city.
    12. Mavis. What an interesting and outrageous best friend.
    13. Eve’s fear of anything feminine. I can so relate.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Thursday 13. If you’re familiar with the IN DEATH series, please add your own favorite moments.

Guilty Pleasure Monday – Joe Mauer

So you all know I love baseball and there are so many hotties in the game. Today’s Guilty Pleasure Monday is Minnesota Twins All-Star Catcher Joe Mauer. He is such a cutie. I love his “aw shucks” kind of attitude in this Head & Shoulders commercial. Love his dimples also!

On the field, Joe is the only catcher in MLB history to win 3 batting titles, he was an American League MVP and also won 3 Golden Glove Awards. Way to go, Joe!

Do you have any baseball hotties you want to share with us today?
