Guilty Pleasure John Cho

I was really sorry to see FLASH FORWARD canceled because I was really enjoying the mix of suspense, paranormal and sexy guys Ralph Fiennes and John Cho. John has been in a number of programs and is probably most famous for his HAROLD AND KUMAR fame. I’m not a fan of movies that glorify drug use, so it fell flat for me, but I really enjoyed him in FLASH FORWARD. John also did a wonderful job as the new Sulu on the STAR TREK re-boot. Geek that I am, am anxiously awaiting the next film with the exciting new STAR TREK cast.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Guilty Pleasure.

The Royal Wedding

There are some memories that never leave you, whether good or bad. 9/11. That memory will never fade especially as the tenth anniversary approaches.

The shock of going to the convenience store one summer weekend to pick up bagels and the paper and seeing that Princess Di had been killed.

Watching Princess Di marry Prince Charles on another summer day. My mom and I had gotten up early to watch together. She had been diagnosed with cancer just a couple of months earlier. Little did I know I would only have her for another short couple of months.

Still, it was a magical memory. The carriage. The gown. The traditions. I still remember it to this day!

So here’s a look back in time to that day. Tomorrow I will be recording the wedding so that my daughter and I can sit side-by-side watching the event. Maybe I’ll buy some scones and clotted cream. Whip up a little tea for us to enjoy while we watch.

All About Obsession

So sorry to have missed you yesterday, but New Jersey Transit had other plans for me it seems. In addition to a one hour delay in the morning, my 40 minute train ride home turned into a two and a half hour journey. Luckily I met up with my friend and fellow author Nisha Sharma on the train and we turned that lemon into lemonade.

With today being Wicked Wednesday, why not talk about Obsession?

Obsession.
It’s a word bandied about in television commercials trying to sell you an assortment of items. People admit to being obsessed about everything from foods to movies to books, not really meaning or understanding the true meaning of obsession.
In its most extreme forms obsession becomes the master, overtaking heart, mind and soul with no thought to reason. It can enslave when there is no way to end the compulsion for someone or some thing or it can liberate when the obsession is satisfied and brings enlightenment.

Where is that coming from you may wonder? Well, I am so honored to have been asked to write the foreword for a new book of erotica for women edited by the wonderful Rachel Kramer Bussell.

OBSESSED is a sexy and eclectic collection of erotic romance stories for those who like a sexier read. It was quite interesting to see the diversity of the stories as the writers like Kayla Perrin and others explore an assortment of obsessions from a compelling attraction to a boss to rekindling married love in a story by Rachel.

Having enjoyed the stories so much, I think I’m going to try my hand at a sexy little story with a vampire and his female keeper. What do you think? Do you like sexier stories like this? Inquiring minds want to know.

13 Things I Love About the Jersey Shore

Jersey ShoreBeing a Pisces, you know I’m a water baby and so the Jersey Shore is such a lovely place for me to be. Being near the ocean spurs my creativity in so many positive ways as does soaking up the sun. So here are the 13 things I love about the Jersey Shore.

1. Long strolls along the Boardwalk.
2. DAYS ice cream. The short shot is the absolute best way to end the day.
3. Sitting beneath an umbrella and watching the ocean.
4. Seeing the little kids playing in the sand and water. Such unabashed joy.
5. Taking a nap beneath my umbrella (something I rarely do the rest of the year).
6. Reading lots and lots of books beneath that umbrella and on my little balcony.
7. The assorted fairs and craft events in all the nearby towns.
8. Fishing. Maybe this year I’ll actually do instead of just watching.
9. Watching the tents go up in Ocean Grove.

10. Listening to music at the Ocean Grove Auditorium.
11. Listening to the music from the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.
12. Looking for shells along the beach. Found lots of sand dollars last year.
13. The Bradley Beach Lobster Festival. Yummy yummy I got lobster in my tummy.

What about you? Are you a Jersey Girl? If so, share your favorite shore things to do.
