Wicked Wednesday – Wickedly Busy

Sorry to not have posted today, but I’m in the throes of finishing up revisions for the next CALLING book — FURY CALLS — which is about Meghan Thomas and sexy punk vampire Blake Richards from DESIRE CALLS.

I absolutely love how this book has turned out. Meghan and Blake are wonderful together and there is a deliciously awful villian — a Chinese vampire known as a kiang-shi. You can read more about the kiang-shi mythology by clicking here. Continue reading “Wicked Wednesday – Wickedly Busy”

Fashion Friday – Winter Hats

I wasn’t prepared for our trip to New York City in that I didn’t bring a cute hat like the one my daughter is wearing in this picture. So we bought one while we were walking around and it was great. Little pattern on the hat and a soft fleecy inside. One of the things I always hated about caps like this was how itchy they were, but this one by Champion is totally comfortable even though it kept on slipping off my big head. Thoughtful Thursday – A Busman’s Holiday

It’s tough when you work in a city like New York every day. A lot of times you rush from place to place without appreciating all that is around you. That’s why my family and I take the time to play tourist every now and then — a busman’s holiday. It reminds us of all the wonderful things that are available in New York City. It also lets us spend some fun time together when we walk all around town to explore some favorite haunts and find new ones.

Here’s some pictures from this year’s busman’s holiday trip to New York. The weather wasn’t too cold and we had a ton of fun seeing the windows on all the stores, visiting the big public library and sitting through the Nutcracker ballet before heading off to a nice dinner in the Bryant Park area. Fashion Friday – Office Holiday Parties

party.jpgIt’s that time of year when businesses hold their annual parties to celebrate the holidays. There are those who get dressed to the nines for these events, but as you must have guessed by now, I’m a simple kind of women. I’ve got a cute little white shirt that has Christmas ornaments embroidered down the front.

Of course because it’s white, I’m praying I don’t dribble some of the party goodies down the front of it or do something equally clutzy as is my general inclination. Which I guess brings us to a list of things not to do at the holiday party! Continue reading “Fashion Friday – Office Holiday Parties”

Thoughtful Thursday – The Toughest Job

mom.jpgPeople often say, “You’re a lawyer? That’s such a tough job.” Or they say, “You’re a writer? That’s a tough job.”

No one ever said, “You’re a parent? That’s such a tough job!” And yet, that’s the hardest job that I do, day in and day out. I’m on call 24/7 for my daughter and she knows it. She also understands, however, that she’s an adult and there some things she needs to start handling herself before mom and dad jump into the fray. (Hard for me to do at times admittedly.)
