Happy Birthday in Heaven

Today is my mom’s birthday and I want to wish her a Happy Birthday in Heaven. Sadly, my mom has been gone from my life for way too long. My mom was a huge influence in my life. She was a friend, a mentor, and a wonderful mother. She worked so hard to give us opportunities so we would be able to achieve the American Dream which we did. In Cuba, she fought for freedom only to be betrayed by Castro. It was a betrayal that she carried as a burden for all her life. Despite that, she taught us the importance of freedom and the amazing gift that we have to be Americans. I am forever grateful for all that she did for her family. I miss my mom every day but know that she is looking down at us and proud of what we’ve become. I hope she is able to see little Axel as well.

This or That: Early Riser or Night Owl

Good morning! Now that I don’t have to commute to NYC to work anymore, I find that I’m still getting up early to write but also staying up a lot later than I normally would on a work day. So I’m an early riser and a night owl. But if I had to pick only one to do it would be: Early Riser. How about you? For a chance to win a $10 gift card, leave a comment with your choice. P.S. Poor Connie and Maggie from the At the Shore contemporary romance series have to drag their butts to NYC to work. You can read their stories in the box set which is specially priced at 99 cents. The last month or two have been all about baby Axel but come October I’m going to attend two wonderful events and I hope you might be able to join me! First up, the wonderful Fall in Love with New England Conference in Marlborough, MA on October 4 and 5. This is a great conference for readers and I’ll be doing several panels with friends, including a murder mystery readers will have to solve and a panel where I’ll share some fun facts about my Hallmark movie and writing the novel for the Jane the Virgin television show. For all of you in reach of the Jersey Shore, join me at the Belmar Public Libary Beach Readers Book fair on October 12. A number of authors will be there for you to meet, including my lovely daughter Samantha Ann who will have her K-pop and K-drama inspired bestsellers! P.S. If you can’t join me to get an autographed book, no worries. Just reach out to me on my contact form at https://www.caridad.com/contact-2/ and provide your mailing address and I’ll send you a bookplate! Happy 1 Month Birthday Axel

It’s hard to believe how quickly a month has gone by since Axel was born and how much he’s already changed. He’s so much more alert, eating more every day, smiles at us (and it’s not gas), and is so much stronger. I love this one month photo of him yawning and holding up one little finger. It was not staged. He just happened to do it while my daughter was snapping off photos. I hope little Axel brings a smile and a little joy as you head into the weekend. As for me, I’m off to help my daughter and son-in-law put the flooring in Axel’s nursery! Happy Friday!

Happy National Cheese Pizza Day

I don’t know about you, but we take pizza seriously in our family. It’s one of our favorite foods and when we hear about an exciting new pizza joint, we like to try it out. There is also a running discussion if Pete’s Pizza in Columbus, NJ is as good as L&B Spumoni Gardens) in Brooklyn. But for some amazing thin Jersey Shore style pizza, Vic’s in Bradley Beach is the place for us. What about you? Do you have a fav pizza place? P.S. If you love all things Jersey Shore, check out the At the Shore contemporary romance box set. It’s specially priced at 99 cents for 3 full-length novels. Works in Progress and SBS K-9

I’m so excited to be working on the new books in the Crooked Pass Security series. I’ve just completed the copyedits on CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING, the first book in the series, and I think you’ll love it! I had so much fun visiting with Rhea and Jackson from COLD CASE REOPENED and seeing how they’re growing their new family. Jackson is cousins with the family in South Beach Security that you’ve met over the last seven books in the South Beach Security books and K-9 Division spinoff. in CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING, Sophie and Robbie from SBS have to save their parents who have been kidnapped by hackers erasing important evidence from police databases. P.S. If you haven’t had a chance to read these earlier books, grab your copies today at https://amzn.to/3MtZlER. But don’t worry, all books are standalone but I think you’ll love the connected characters.
