Sara is a nurse assigned to Melissa Danvers’ department Raised in Spanish Harlem, she has had to battle adversity to be what she is today. Her parents are hard-working people and to put herself through college, Sara did a stint in the Army. After her tour was over, Sara went to college and became a Registered Nurse. Her high grades and intelligence earn her a spot at a top New York City hospital where she meets Dr. Melissa Danvers. The two women quickly become friends.
Sara’s mom is terminally ill and when conventional methods fail, Sara turns to Ricardo Fernandez and discovers not only his amazing powers, but the strange underworld in which Melissa and some of her friends exist.
She also realizes that Ricardo is not what he claims, but also learns that he is an honorable man trying to do what he can to help others. In that way, they are both very much alike — it was her desire to help others that drove her into the nursing profession.
When the oddness of her friends’ world and Ricardo’s powers challenge her, Sara rises to the occasion and proves that she is someone who can deal with whatever is thrown at her, much like her friend Melissa.
