Who is celebrating in September?

Happy September! I can’t believe the summer has flown by and September is here. I know many of you are celebrating back-to-school, but what other celebrations are happening this month? Any birthdays? Anniversaries? My mom’s birthday is in September. She’ll be celebrating 99 in heaven. Wow! What about you? Any special things in September? P.S. I have a few events in September! I’ll be at the Books Books Books event in Lancaster, PA, on September 27. If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you! I have two free tickets if you’d like to attend. Just PM and I’ll get you added to the list for the tickets. I’ll also be at the Brooklyn Book Festival on September 21st from 12:15 to 3:45 at the Romance Writers of America booth.

Happy National Beach Day

Happy National Beach Day! OMG, it’s Labor Day weekend! I can’t believe that “summer” is over. Down the shore, there is a real change. Nights are longer and cooler. After Monday, we’ll see a decided drop in beachgoers, even though September and October are some of the most glorious times to go to the beach. Today I’m hoping to hit the beach after some chores, and I’ll be taking something very special with me to read: my daughter’s new book. It’s a story about the banished prince of an underwater kingdom of merpeople whose secret has been discovered by a surf photographer. Did I mention it’s a romance? Goodbye, Old Friend

Goodbye, old friend! Twenty-five years ago, I bought a Sebring Convertible, and over the years, it’s been a happy part of my life, bringing many joyous memories. Driving my daughter and her friends with the top down. A road trip to Florida. Taking part in a few Ocean Grove July 4th parades to support my daughter’s surf and skate shop. Cruising on the open road, top down, radio blasting. Unfortunately, twenty-five years took their toll on my baby. This past Saturday, we traded her in. But before we did that, my daughter and I took a final drive, top down, radio blasting! When we arrived at the dealer, we did a last photo of us with my old friend. Happy National Vinyl Record Day

Happy National Vinyl Record Day! When I was younger, we only had vinyl records for our own music playing or the radio! I still have a few of my vinyl records that I can’t part with, namely, recordings from All-County orchestra performances and the entire Romeo and Juliet movie (also before videotapes!) Enjoying Summer Bounty

Even though I’m not getting many tomatoes in my garden, we have enjoyed them from local friends and the grocery store. We’ve also enjoyed summer corn. But if I had to choose…That’s a tough choice. A lovely tomato salad or roasted corn off the grill? What’s a girl to do? What about you? What would you choose? Corn or tomato? P.S.
