Oh the weather outside is frightful!

For many on the East Coast, the first snowfall of the year is coming down. I’m lucky that I only have rain since being close to the ocean helps warm things up in the winter and cool things down in the summer. Still, it’s nasty out there so after brunch with a friend, I’m going to hunker down and get some reading done. How about you or shouldn’t I ask because the answer will be: I like to read when it’s too cold/hot/rainy/sunny outside! LOL!

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling!

It’s the Epiphany or Los Reyes as we call it at our house! Hanging on to Christmas just a little longer. Who wouldn’t love that? How about a grinchy bah humbug but sexy vampire whose past Christmases have been filled with pain and loss? To be honest, when my editor called me and said, “We want you to write a Christmas vampire story”, I was a little dumbfounded. Vampires and Christmas? Really? But no sooner had I said “Of course” my mind was whirling with ideas and the story for Fate Calls totally came to me! It took a lot of planning to make sure that vampire elder Hadrian had real reasons for hating Christmas so that when Connie Morales ends up on his doorstep in her Santa outfit, madly ringing her bell to raise money for charity, he has a reason to make her stop! I loved giving Hadrian his backstory, especially since it included a great deal of Roman history and also vampire elder Stacia’s backstory as well. She’s one of my favorite characters since she’s so outrageous and tortured. Happy New Year! So excited for 2024!

OMG, it’s 2024! Another year and like I said yesterday, I’m so excited for 2024! I’m looking forward to a grandbaby and so much more. I’m working on a number of new books and have several Harlequin Intrigue releases starting with Sabotage Operation and Escape the Everglades in May and June. Also planning on a number of reader conferences starting with the Coastal Magic Conference in February! Also excited about presenting workshops, starting with the Liberty States Fiction Writers Conference in March! OMG so much!! What about travel? Well, that all depends on when the new baby will arrive and helping out my daughter and her hubby. Not complaining, though. It’s such a wondrous thing and honestly, having my daughter and seeing the person she has become is the greatest accomplishment of my life. What about you? What are you looking forward to doing in 2024?

Happy Boxing Day and Fury Calls

Happy Boxing Day! It’s not a holiday we celebrate in the U.S., but in the United Kingdom it’s part of the Christmas celebrations! Many people exchange gifts or take advantage of Boxing Day sales. The holiday takes its name from the practice of employers giving small gifts to their employees or servants as a way to say thanks for all their hard work during the year. in The Calling is Reborn series, Blake Williams (one of my fav characters of all time!) is Welsh and he would have celebrated Boxing Day with his family. Blake came from a very impoverished family and sacrificed a great deal for them. When you first meet him he’s hard and sarcastic but he comes into his own in Fury Calls. Word of warning: This is a very dark fantasy with violent scenes, but I love how it showcases Blake’s growth, his love for Meghan, and his loyalty to his friends. You can find Fury Calls at https://amzn.to/48sdz1N.
