To plant a garden…

It was Audrey Hepburn who said, “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”

I love planting my garden! I’m always impatient to get started. Impatience is actually one of my best and worst traits. Best because I am always pushing to accomplish things and worst because well, it can lead to disappointment when things don’t happen as quickly as I would like.

When it comes to my garden, I’d start planting in February if I could which is hard in New Jersey. I actually started some seedlings indoors that I moved outside about two weeks ago. Luckily, it turns out that my new forever home is in another zone that lets me get going a little earlier. Combine that with plants that can handle a little cold and I’ve already got quite a garden growing. So this #ThrowbackThursday I’m sharing some pictures of my garden that I took yesterday!

This or that?

I’m definitely a coffee in the morning person. I make myself a big to-go mug to sip while I write my romance novels! Why a to-go cup? Because I am a total clutz and have spilled my coffee more than once. Luckily not into my laptop. I also have a tendency to get so involved in what I’m writing that I forget to have my coffee so the to-go cup keeps it form becoming iced coffee too quickly.

When it comes to an afternoon pick-me-up while I’m writing or relaxing, I like tea better. I discovered my favorite tea by accident when my daughter got married. Since she had a Jane Austen-themed wedding, her favor bags had very British things like shortbread cookies and tea. Someone suggested a wedding tea and I went online and discovered Harney’s Wedding Tea which is black tea infused with rose petals. I was a little leery, but it is delicious! It also came in beautiful little tins with silk sachets, but you can get it in a bigger tin.

How about you? Do you prefer tea or coffee?

Celebrate Caridad’s Good News and More!

Thank you all for the wonderful reviews and comments on Cold Case Reopened! I truly appreciate your support for my very first Harlequin Intrigue. If you enjoyed this book, I think you will really like Trapping a Terrorist, my next Harlequin Intrigue. Here is a little teaser for it!

    Trapping a Terrorist

An FBI agent puts everything on the line…

To keep a deadly threat at bay.

When FBI agent Miguel Peters and his father land squarely in the crosshairs of a bomber terrorizing Seattle, the last thing Miguel wants is to also entangle a lovely stranger in a terrorist’s web. Yet while Maisy Oliver might look innocent, her father’s one of the most notorious men in Washington State. Miguel knows Maisy will do anything to help him and his team catch a killer. But does that include confronting a past she’s worked far too long to forget?

You can find out more about Trapping a Terrorist at https://www.caridad.com/books/suspense/trapping-a-terrorist/.

My hubby teases me that I often “bury the lede” which is true in this case. I like to think that I’ve left the best news for last, namely, that I’ve agreed to do another four — yes 4! — for Harlequin Intrigue. If you’ve read Cold Case Reopened and remember Jackson’s Miami cousins Sophie and Robbie Whitaker, you’ll see more of them in my Liberty Agency series! Yeah! So excited to be sharing this news with you.

Caridad Loves a Foggy Day in London

Like many of you, I am itching for things to change so that I can travel again. I have a number of places on my bucket list, including a city I’ve been able to visit a number of times: London. The first time was actually on a business trip where I had a short two day stay. The next was a little longer, like four days. That was during one of those weird NJ teacher breaks and the round-trip airfare to London was cheaper than flying to Florida! The last time was when my daughter was there for study abroad. Mama Bear that I am, I couldn’t be without my daughter for six months so we visited her when she had an Easter break from school. We had a lot of fun and got to see a lot of London. A very nice city with incredibly pleasant and funny people!

Today you can take an armchair visit to London with these photos I’m sharing. You can also go to VisitLondon.com for more information!

P.S. – As you can see from the photos, we didn’t have a foggy day. In fact, we usually had really nice weather, even the first two times when I visited in November!

Happy Spring Decorating

I have found that between retiring from my day job and the pandemic I have done a lot more decorating in and around the house. I always did some decorating for Christmas, but now it’s all the major holidays. Hearts and other things up for Valentine’s Day. A quick little smattering of shamrocks for St. Patrick’s day. Much more for Easter with a combination of cold-hardy flowers, Easter eggs, and other items. It takes a little time, but I find that it makes me so much cheerier. Here’s a quick shot of my spring flowers and some of the decorating!Spring decorating
