#WriteWed – A New York City Writing Experience

My daughter is working in New York City now so I had the pleasure of commuting with her this morning as well as sharing a traditional New York coffee shop experience. We had a great time on the train chatting about the writing projects on which we were both working and the discussion continued as we ate breakfast together. I love that my daughter has developed such an intense passion to write and that we can share that love. She’s been writing in journals since middle school and I’m proud to say she released her first novel, FOLLOWING JANE, five years ago. Right now she’s working on various projects, just like her mom. I’ve got several things going on and as soon as I can share, I will! For now, I’m so glad we got to share this New York City writing experience.

#ThrowbackThursday – Dragon Con and Dave Tango

Years ago I went to Dragon Con to do some promotion for my paranormal romances. It was quite an experience! The costumes and people were absolutely amazing and I had an awesome time. One of the things I got to do was go around and check out the celebrities in the autograph booths, but then one day to our surprise who walked by our booth but none other than Dave Tango from the Ghost Hunters crew. Dave was lovely and took the time to pose with a number of us. Thanks, Dave. This photo is of Dave and me in front of our booth.

Indie-Publishing 101 #WriteWed

As I mentioned the other day, I’m so excited to have gotten back rights to over a dozen books that I had written from Harlequin. Many of them are paranormals including quite a number of books in THE CALLING vampire suspense series. Since this is a series of my heart it’s a big woo hoo. My goal is to re-release them over the course of the next several months, but that will take planning and some thought on how to position them since THE CALLING has always been a unique series. A little bit vampire, a little bit suspense. A little historical with the vampire backgrounds and a little multicultural with Chupacabras, Chiang shis and a Latino FBI Agent and her Scooby Gang.

That kind of planning and the self-publishing avenues available to authors is what I will be chatting about at this year’s Liberty States Fiction Writers Conference. I’m so looking forward to sharing what I’ve learned over the last several years of releasing my own books and hopefully offering aspiring authors useful information about how to move their careers forward. For more info on the conference, which also has a wonderful readers’ track, please visit www.lsfwriters.com.

The one word that keeps on coming back to me as being imperative is “planning.” We just had an awesome planning workshop at our monthly meeting this month and I know many of the attendees came away with good ideas on not only planning, but using technology to help them be more effective writers.

Right now I’m in the planning phases since I have to write a new book for a traditional contract and somehow work in new projects for the future as well as the indie publishing for the books which have reverted to me.

2019 is promising to be an interesting year and I’m looking forward to sharing all that happens with you!

#ManCandyMonday – Vampire Adrian from THE VAMPIRE’S CONSORT

Although my books tend to be sexier, I never thought about writing erotic romance until I was asked to change up what I was doing since Nocturne Bites had become Nocturne Cravings. It was a whoa moment, but I tackled it with enthusiasm and the result was a very sexy book about a vampire and his consort. But it was also very much a romance between vampire Adrian and Eliza, the consort he had saved from dying of consumption. I really loved including various historical aspects in this novella as well as some very hot scenes with Eliza and Adrian. And I mean 5 chili pepper hot! LOL! Here is how I pictured Adrian, a brooding Irishman who is totally in love with a woman who he thinks would be totally wrong for him.

Since I’ve got the rights back to this story, I’ve rereleased it and have it up for 99 cents for a limited time as a way of saying thanks to all of you who have been so supportive over the years.

Reviews

Paranormal Romance Guild – 5 Stars: “Caridad Pineiro has written such a sensual story of love and yearning that will have your heart breaking for these two star crossed lovers dying for each other. Actually, it has been 200 years, six months, and 3 days that they have yearned for each other.”

UNDER THE COVERS – 4.5 Stars: Caridad Piñeiro is turning up the heat! I am amazed at how she managed to make me care about the characters in such a short story. This is not usually an easy task but in this case, job well done!

Teaser

When Vampire Adrian runs across enchanting barmaid Eliza he gives her a once in a lifetime choice: die of a fatal illness or become his consort.
Eliza chose a life of servitude to the handsome vampire, but she did not expect that she would come to lust after him. Worse, she never expected to fall in love with him.

Eliza is tired of waiting for Adrian to see her as more than his consort.
She’s even more tired of watching Adrian pleasure his many human companions. Eliza wants nothing more than to love her vampire master, but Adrian thinks she wants her freedom to spend her life with her human lover. But then Adrian surprises all three of them with a sensual evening that changes everything.
