Escape the Everglades is Finished!

Woo hoo! I wrote those magic words today: The end. Escape the Everglades, #2 in the South Beach Security K-9 Division spinoff is done. It’ll be off to the editor next week and hopefully, be out in late 2023. This is an action-packed book also filled with emotion as a single dad deals with raising his son after the untimely death of his wife and is also trying to stop illegal poaching. If you haven’t read the first three in the South Beach Security series yet, the first two are now available and #3 — Biscayne Bay Breach — will be available in 18 days. Happy National Chocolate Covered Anything Day

Who doesn’t like anything covered in chocolate? Except for maybe books. That might be a little too messy! LOL! My fav chocolate-covered things are strawberries and pretzels. I love the sweet/salty thing on the pretzel. As for other chocolate-covered things I’ve tried, how about bacon and potato chips? Again, I love that sweet/salty combo. What about you? What is your fav chocolate-covered thing? And what thing wouldn’t you eat? For me, it would be chocolate-covered insects. No way!

How Christmas Changes Over the Years

We have a number of Christmas traditions, like putting up the Christmas Village and placing the angel the top of the tree. With us downsizing the Christmas Village has also been downsized and moved to all new spaces in the house. As for the angel, well my daughter has her own home now and so hubby needed a different helper to get the angel at the top of the tree. Slate didn’t mind, although he seems a little too fascinated by the tree this year. Let’s hope he doesn’t pull it down and break some of the more fragile ornaments.

Christmas funnies

It’s beginning to look like Christmas!

You may wonder what a romance author does when they’re not busy writing their next book! Well, at this time of year, this romance author is busy getting out all the Christmas decorations and getting the house ready for the holidays. I managed to get most of the boxes out two days ago and yesterday was Day 1 of prep. I’m sharing what I got done so far and what I have left to do. Sigh. So many things to do!

Where is the world is Caridad?

For many many years, we had the lovely tradition of spending Thanksgiving with my sister and her family. But then Covid came around as well as some other circumstances and now we travel for the Thanksgiving holiday. While we were away we had a chance to visit somewhere I’d never been before but had heard about often. Can you guess where in the world I am? I’ll give you some clues! It’s a coastal city that was once the largest in the state. Named for a Spanish leader, it was run by French pirates for a number of years. P.S. – While you’re trying to figure it out, I hope you’ll check out Lost in Little Havana at https://amzn.to/3FT144d.

I’m so excited for you to read this book which has one of my favorite tropes: Friends to lovers. Also, falling in love with best friend’s older brother! Troublesome, right? But as Trey and Roni battle the deadly danger in their current investigation, it’s impossible for them not to explore the passion rising between them.
