Exciting New Releases and WIPs

I’m busy working on the second book in the Crooked Pass Security romantic suspense series, tentatively titled DEADLY IN DENVER. The first book in the series, CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING, will be out in June 2025 and DEADLY will be out in July 2025. I’m so excited about this series which visits with the characters from COLD CASE REOPENING. I love seeing what’s happened with Rhea and Jackson and hope you will also! But don’t worry that you have to wait that long for another book from me. KILLER IN THE KENNEL and DANGER IN DADE, the next books in the South Beach Security K-9 series will be out in November and December of 2024. You can pre-order your copies or pick up the first two books in the series at https://amzn.to/4dp2t0A.

Shoutout The Fifth Kingdom

I’m off to my monthly meeting with the Liberty States Fiction Writers this morning but wanted to give this shoutout to Goodreads Reviewer Sherry for her review of THE FIFTH KINGDOM. This romantic suspense is one of my favorite stories. It features an emotional romance, interesting bits of Mexican history and food, a tortured mother-daughter relationship, an alpha CIA Agent, and a surprise that I don’t think anyone – even me – expects! It’s specially priced at 99 cents and you can snag your copy at https://amzn.to/4fIaRKe.

Shoutout to Debra Webb

This Saturday I want to give a shoutout to my friend and fellow author Debra Webb whose latest book just released this week! DEEPER THAN THE DEAD sounds like a fabulous book and I can’t wait to read it. If you love suspense, family drama, and dark secrets, grab your copy today at https://amzn.to/3LOVdyH. Here’s a teaser for DEEPER THAN DEAD.

Someone’s found the skeleton in the closet, and it’s not the only one. Wall Street Journal bestselling author Debra Webb presents an emotional new mystery.

Crime analyst and newly disgraced deputy police chief Vera Boyett doesn’t visit home often, and she certainly doesn’t venture back into the cave on her family land. But when the remains of her long-missing stepmother are discovered, Vera will have to face a past that threatens all she is.

She and her sister Eve had a fairy-tale childhood: good until it was tragic, with a stepmother they never found a bond with. At least they had each other, a baby half-sister, and a mutual devotion that would have them do the unthinkable.

It’s a summer in small-town Tennessee, so thick with humidity it could drown you and so rife with secrets it could smother you. And deep beneath the surface, there are more bodies than you’d think…

A Book of My Heart

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of running into Jeannie J-T at the Boobs Between the Books event created by my wonderful friend and fellow author Stacey Wilk. Jeannie and I had a wonderful discussion about all the different genres I’d written and since she’d already read THE FIFTH KINGDOM, I suggested that she might also like DARKNESS CALLS since it also has a paranormal element, namely a vampire as the hero. Jeannie took my recommendation and I’m so glad that she enjoyed the book. Thanks, Jeannie, for this review of a book of my heart. Grab your copy of DARKNESS CALLS for only 99 cents at https://amzn.to/4bCbK3H.

Thank you for the review!

Thank you for the review, Roberta! Reviews really are one of the very best ways that you can help support an author. We appreciate you taking the time to read the book and put your thoughts down in a review. Reviews can also be helpful because it gives an author an idea of what you liked and didn’t like in a story. This way we are hopefully becoming better authors! This review from Roberta is for SABOTAGE OPERATION, my May release. You can grab your copy at https://amzn.to/45vdUiP.

Wonderful Shoutout for Escape the Everglades

I can’t believe there are only 10 days until the release of ESCAPE THE EVERGLADES! It’s so exciting and I want to thank those who already have their copies of this romantic suspense and have taken the time to leave a review. Reviews really do help authors and we appreciate them more than you can imagine. Today’s shoutout is to Wendy H. who left this wonderful review on Bookbub!

5 Stars: “The second book in this series and it’s no less compelling and emotional as the first one. Plenty of action and investigating … Twists and turns, PTSD, grief and second chances … It’s raw at times for both characters and it certainly tugged at my heart strings, both have been through so much but something just clicks between them. Attention held from beginning to end, it’s well written and a fairly fast paced read but it also has lots of depth both with feelings and information and details. Suspense and some full on scary scenes it had everything I love in this genre including the romance, a k9 and a small boy. Amazing story.”

THANK YOU so much, Wendy. If you’d like to get your hands on ESCAPE THE EVERGLADES, run, don’t walk to https://bit.ly/EscapetheEverglades.

Special Shoutout Library Journal

I want to thank everyone who’s taken the time to leave a review for my new release, SABOTAGE OPERATION. Reviews are really one of the best ways that you can help an author! THANK YOU! I’ll do my best to do shoutouts of those reviews as my way of saying thanks to you for taking the time to read and review. Today’s shoutout is a little different as it comes from Library Journal. A big thank you to them for this review of the first book in my new South Beach Security spinoff series! P.S. – If you haven’t read the first books in the series, you can grab your copies at https://amzn.to/3R70FQs.

Teresa Rodriguez is proud of the racing stable she owns on her own, without any help from her family. Not only are some of the horses valuable, but one in particular is her friend and confidante. When someone tries to poison that horse and shoots at her stables, she loses her cool and asks her best friend, Mia, for help. Mia and her brother run the South Beach Security company and agree to offer protection. Matt Perez, a South Beach Security K-9 agent, is drawn to the pretty stable owner but has major issues when it comes to rich people. If he can get past his pre-conceived notions and see Teresa for who she really is, the two might just be able to build a life together.

VERDICT: Piñeiro (Biscayne Bay Breach) continues to write southern Florida–set romantic suspense well in this new series launch.
