A Paranormal Moment from The Muppets

What paranormal writer doesn’t love a demon in the night doing all kinds of things with the peasantry? Check out this funny take from The Muppets on the classic STAND BY ME!

Also, congrats to Leanne, Rachel, Christine and Kym who won prizes at the live video event on Wednesday night. Thanks to all who came by. We’re working on the dates for the next video chats and I’ve lined up some fun authors to visit, like my Danger Women Writing buddies Lisa Renee Jones and Cynthia Eden. 13 Things I Love About Being a Writer

There are lots of good and bad things about being a writer, but I like being a positive person and so this morning I’m going to focus on 13 things I love about being a writer.

    1. Sharing my stories with people
    2. Creating new worlds and characters
    3. Meeting new people
    4. Sharing what I know with other writers.
    5. Talking about favorite books with other writers and readers.
    6. Visiting new places for conferences and research
    7. Research. I so love learning new things.
    8. My editors who help me improve my writing.
    9. Attending workshops.
    10. Having complete control over my characters (I am such a control freak!)
    11. Making new friends with readers and other writers
    12. Spending time alone writing.
    13. Long walks spent creating new ideas or working through problems.

As you might have noticed, meeting new people and making friends was up there on that list. Sometimes it’s not possible to meet you all in person, but thanks to technology, it is possible to see each other face-to-face!

In the coming weeks I’ll be having some live video interaction with fans and friends and also sharing some of my favorite authors and friends with you. Come join the fun at our very first live video meet and greet TODAY!

We are going to preview THE LOST, the very first book in my new SIN HUNTER series.

I’ll be giving away a $10 gift card, a LOST T-shirt and a couple of cool reusable grocery bags so that you can help to protect the environment. I’ll also be picking some lucky winners to get copies of SOLDIER’S SECRET CHILD and STRONGER THAN SIN!

You can either click here to join the chat today, Thursday, May 5 at 8:30 EST or click on the widget below. Feel free to share the widget with your friends and let them share in the fun and prizes. You can also tweet or share this link: http://t.wbx.me/eemp7

Wicked Wednesday – Guest Blog & Contest

TEMPTATION CALLS vampire romanceOur Danger Women Writing Guest Blogs and Contests continue today with my wonderful editor, Stacy Boyd! Stacy will be chatting about the Harlequin Desire line and one lucky commenter will win copies of some of the books in THE CALLING VAMPIRE novels that Stacy and I have worked on together, namely, DANGER CALLS, TEMPTATION CALLS and FURY CALLS!

Please stop by and say hello to Stacy, but before you go, here’s a little known piece of trivia about the cover for TEMPTATION CALLS. A decision was made for the heroine to have a tattoo on the cover even though I made no mention of it in the book. When asked what would be the most likely tattoo she would have, it occurred to me that since the heroine – Samantha Turner – runs a home for abused women called the Artemis Shelter, the tattoo should be a representation of the goddess Artemis (Diana in Roman mythology – yes like Diana Reyes). Artemis was the Goddess of the Hunt and often depicted with a bow and arrow and so voila – the tattoo on the heroine’s leg is that of a female archer.

Manic Monday!

Just another Manic Monday . . .

Just got back from RT and I had a blast. Will have some photos for you in the next few days.

Many thanks to all of you who came by the signing to meet me! It was so nice to finally get to see you face-to-face!

Subway Takes a Wrong Turn?

Imagine waking up to this outside your door!

LOL! April Fool! This is actually a staged shot done for April Fool’s Day in Copenhagen, a most beautiful city. Apparently Gevalia coffee does a series of ads where their name pops up on various vehicles. Kind of funny!

Thanks to Lars [email protected] for releasing this into the public domain.

On a more serious note: NO SNOW! At least not in NYC and my neck of the NJ Woods. It’s even a little warmer, maybe a sign that Spring will finally arrive. Maybe. Hopefully. Please, please, please come soon!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. As for me, I’m working on new holiday vampire novella for Harlequin. I’ve got it almost there, but am tweaking some parts to make certain elements clearer. It’s a radical departure for me in the vampire world, I think. Very different from THE CALLING vampire novels. More similar to MORE THAN A MISSION in terms of style, sexiness and emotion. Here’s hoping my editor likes it.
