I’ve just turned in the first book in the South Beach Security K-9 series, tentatively titled Rescue at Redland Ranch. Now I’m finishing up some research so I can start writing the second book in the series, tentatively titled Escape the Everglades. I love doing the research, especially since the Everglades is such a fascinating location. Many years ago we did an airboat tour and I’m excited to include some of that experience in the opening scenes of the book. I think that if you liked Decoy Training, you’ll love seeing the dogs in this new romantic suspense series. Meet the Gonzalez Family from South Beach Security
I can’t wait for you to meet the Gonzalez family from the South Beach Security series. Actually, you met some of them already if you read Cold Case Reopened when tech gurus Sophie and Robbie Whitaker (cousins to the Gonzalez family) helped Jackson Whitaker and Rhea Reilly discover the truth about her sister’s disappearance. In the South Beach Security series you’ll get to see Sophie and Robbie help their Gonzalez family solve crimes revolving around murder, human trafficking, domestic abuse, fraud, and hacking! I decided to make this little family tree to show you the relationships between the family members and their books. Book Signing with Amazing Friends & My Wonderful Daughter
As a parent, there are so many things that bring you joy. A first step or smile. Watching your child graduate and then marry a wonderful man. Seeing them happy and building their own life. I’ve been lucky to experience all those things and now another milestone: My first book signing with my daughter. I am so proud of how she is reaching for her dream to write and hope I had some small part in her having that passion. I’m also excited to be signing with some amazing friends. Behind the Scenes of South Beach Love
It was quite an experience to be able to watch the filming of South Beach Love. It was like watching chaos somehow come together to form something cohesive. There were people all over the set, each with their own responsibilities, who would dash in to make adjustments between shots. There were also people sitting there watching everything during the shots, making sure that what was happening on the screen would come across as clear and pleasing. It was also a lot of fun meeting the cast! Everyone was so welcoming and I was grateful for the way they responded to the book I had written. For today’s Write Wednesday, I’m sharing some shots I took on the last day of filming. These shots are from the last scene in the movie where the happy couple is opening their restaurant together. Even though it seems so smooth on the screen, I hope you can tell from these pictures just what it took to make that scene happen. Sad and Happy to be Heading to D.C.
I just finished up my time at the International Women’s Writing Guild (IWWG) conference at Endicott College. I had a lovely time and it was a beautiful location just yards away from the North Shore and a number of quaint towns. I taught two workshops in the Business Track and now I’m headed to Washington, D.C. for the Romance Writers of America (RWA) conference. I’ll be teaching two workshops there as well. One is on Point of View and the other is on Improving Your Amazon Presence. I can’t wait for the conference and to get together with old friends as well as make new ones!
