#FreebieFriday – JUST ONE NIGHT Military Romance

Good morning and Happy Friday! Today I’m offering up a free read of one of my military romance novellas that is set on the Jersey Shore. Actually, all the stories in the Take a Chance series are set in towns all up and down the Jersey Shore. All the stories are also about military heroes, male and female, and how they are willing to risk it all for a chance at Happily-Ever-After. I hope you’ll enjoy this sexy read and have a great weekend. To download the free read, please visit https://claims.prolificworks.com/free/mpx6b.

Aaron Diaz & At The Shore #ManCandyMonday

Happy Man Candy Monday! I’ve started the timeline for #3 in the At the Shore series and am creating in my brain the image for Carlo Teixeira, the hero in #3. Carlo is of Portuguese descent and his family lives in the Ironbound section of Newark. He has a number of older brothers who run the Caminho bakery, but two younger brothers (who I hope to spin off into their own stories later!).

There are a number of Latin men who could fit the part of Carlo, the caterer extraordinaire, and he’s taking shape physically in my brain. As I was searching for assistance with this, a hard job but someone has to do it, I ran across sexy Aaron Diaz.

Aaron was born in Mexico on March 7. OMG, we share a birthday. How right is that?

Aaron has appeared in a number of telenovelas and also had a role in the short-lived PAN AM series on ABC and is now appearing on QUANTICO.

What Makes a Good Hero? #WriteWed

I had the pleasure of attending the Liberty States Fiction Writers Conference this weekend and a workshop by the marvelous Virginia Kantra. Virginia is a lovely lady and an amazing speaker. I always get something worthwhile from her panels and speeches.

The panel I attended was one on “What Makes a Good Hero?” It had lots of information and got me to thinking about how to refine the hero in book #2 in the At the Shore Contemporary Romance series. But it also had me contemplating what inspired Owen Pierce, the hero in #1 – One Summer Night.

When I think of Owen, I think of someone who is almost too perfect to be true. Someone who always does everything by the book. Owen is honorable and full of integrity. He’s hard working and demands a lot of himself because of a father who belittles him and a brother who needs his love and support.

Owen would sacrifice anything for the people he loves and he’s not afraid of commitment. But to have the woman that he loves in his life, Maggie Sinclair, he may have to lose all that he’s worked for as well as his honor and integrity. It makes for an interesting story, trust me! LOL!

Here’s how I pictured Owen. Sexy, right?

#ManCandyMonday Matt Lanter from Timeless

Good morning! Sorry I’ve been gone for a few weeks, but I have been crazy. I spent two weeks after Christmas helping my daughter paint and get her new home ready. She moved in during that horrible winter storm, but luckily it went well. After that, some kind of stomach bug hit me and laid me low, but now I’m back!

It’s Monday which means, time for a Man Crush. Today’s choice is Matt Lanter from NBC’s TIMELESS. Matt has those dimples and that sexy boy next door look. For the first few shows, it was killing me that I thought he looked like someone and I couldn’t put my finger on it. But then I realized that he looked like a young Marc Blucas of Buffy fame.

Matt started off as a contestant on a Bravo reality show, but soon had a number of acting and voice roles. He was in 90210 and has also voiced Anakin Skywalker for the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars which was a box office success.

What do you think? Cute or not?

Also, if you like history, you should check out TIMELESS. It’s very interesting and of course, romance. I can totally see it developing between Matt’s character and the female lead.

#ManCandyMonday Liam Hemsworth

I’m working on SINCE WE WERE 18 (the tentative title for #1 in the Jersey Girl Bridesmaids series) and the brother of the hero is a laid-back, thrill-seeking, surfer-type dude. His name is Johnson, but everyone calls him J for a variety of reasons. I’ve been thinking of who I might cast to play J and Liam Hemsworth came to mind. Welcome Liam to Man Crush Monday!

#ManCandyMonday Dylan McDermott

I’ve been chugging away nicely on the first book in the 2017 Jersey Girl Bridesmaid Series, tentatively titled SINCE WE WERE 18. I don’t normally pick an actor that I think would look like the hero, although I generally have a very good sense of the physical attributes of the hero (and heroine, of course). To be honest, I like to leave a lot to your imagination!

This time, I’m going to share a photo of someone who I think fits my general concept of the hero, sexy billionaire Jackson (Jax) Pierce

Today’s Man Candy choice is handsome Dylan McDermott. I first noticed Dylan in STEEL MAGNOLIAS and later in the first American Horror Story (which I could not keep on watching ’cause it creeped me out!)

The biggest difference between Dylan and my hero is that Jax has dark grey eyes shot through with shards of silver.

#TeaserTuesday STAY THE NIGHT #Military #Romance

STAY THE NIGHT has to be one of my favorite stories. I loved that big strong Navy Seal Rafe Castillo is still in love with his wife after nearly five years of separation, but wondering whether she is still in love with him. I loved that Elena, Rafe’s wife, has grown and made something of herself, but still wants to fight to keep her husband even though their marriage was forced on them by an unwanted pregnancy.

I enjoyed exploring the dynamics between the two and having them find out that as different as they had both become during the five years of their marriage, their love was still strong.

So today I have for you an excerpt from STAY THE NIGHT. Click here if you cannot see the STAY THE NIGHT Excerpt below.
