So first, this throwback to that trip! This photo always reminds me of the serene nights we spent on Maui during our anniversary trip. Maui was lovely and we had a great time exploring the island and just relaxing. If you haven’t had a chance to visit this amazing state, I hope you get a chance to go.

#WriteWed Chrysler Building & Jersey Girl Bridesmaids

I am so excited to say I’ve finished the first book in the Jersey Girl Bridesmaids series, tentatively titled Since We Were 18. It’s off to my agent for a read and final tweaks before it goes to my new publisher Sourcebooks.

I am really happy about how the story turned out and I hope you will enjoy this sexy, emotional and fun tale about a Romeo and Juliet relationship, without all the tragedy. Okay, some drama, but a very rewarding Happily-Ever-After.

Two of the Jersey Girls, Maggie Sinclair and Connie Reyes, actually work in Manhattan just yards away from each other in the Chrysler Building and its Annex. Why there? Well, because this is where I work and hang during the day, so I thought I’d share some of that with you.

Maggie’s office is in the Chrysler Building so today’s Write Wednesday is some photos of that lovely place. It is without a doubt my favorite building in all of Manhattan. There is so much attention to detail and quality in the materials used. It really was a labor of love for Walter Chrysler. It shows in every aspect of the building. I am going to try and get some more photos for you of the gargoyles and other elements that are high up so you can truly appreciate some of the secrets of this building! But for now, some photos from the lobby through which Maggie Sinclair walks every morning (lol like me).

#TeaserTuesday TO LOVE AND SERVE and DARE TO LOVE in Taming the Vampire

Taming the VampireAs I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I’m in a great new new anthology – TAMING THE VAMPIRE – with some friends who also write vampire romance. My contribution to the collection is DARE TO LOVE, a new story in THE CALLING IS REBORN Vampire series. The anthology is only 99 cents for a limited time and best of all, these are ALL NEW stories! Not re-releases and not available anywhere except in the anthology. You can read more about the anthology here: http://bit.ly/tamingvamp

DARE TO LOVE features vampire slayer Benjamin, a sexy alpha hero who first appeared in TO LOVE AND SERVE.

Today I have a little teaser for you from and excerpt for you from TO LOVE AND SERVE where Benjamin first makes his appearance.

Teaser TO LOVE AND SERVE

He lived alone for centuries until she came into his life. . .

Southern vampire Ryder Latimer had never expected to love again or to live again until FBI Agent Diana Reyes came into his life and made him believe it was possible to believe in the future. When a mission goes horribly bad, Ryder risks his life to save his lover. When he takes a bullet for her, he contaminates her with his blood, saving her life, but condemning her to a slow death as his vampire cells take over her body.

Since her father’s death years earlier, she had dedicated her life to protecting others…

Diana Reyes’s father had died in her arms and since that date, she’s served others in order to obtain justice and keep the world safe. When sexy Ryder Latimer saunters into her life, he challenges what she believed was meant to be her life. There’s just one problem: Now when she really believes in the possibility of happily-ever-after, her life is slipping away from her and Diana must decide whether to become a vampire in order to stay with the man she loves.

#ManCandyMonday Paul Hollywood and The Great British Bake Off

Today’s Man Crush is a man who creates heat in the kitchen and elsewhere: Paul Hollywood, celebrity chef from The Great British Bake Off. If you love cooking, and baking in particular, you must watch this show! I love hearing Paul and Mary Berry, the other remarkable host, talk about the items which have to be created and then analyzing them. The bakers on this show create some truly awesome confections.

As for Paul, this picture just doesn’t do him credit. You must watch the show to get the full effect of that salt and pepper hair, ice blue eyes and the accent. Oh my . . . things are heating up here. LOL! Hope you enjoyed today’s Man Candy.

#FridayFunday Writers and Deadlines

If there’s one thing that writers dread, besides the synopsis of course, it’s a deadline. I, for one, freak out if a deadline is approaching and I’m not where I want to be in the story I’m writing. Luckily for me, I just finished the first draft of SINCE WE WERE 18, the first book in the Jersey Girl Bridesmaid series. I have had a blast writing Maggie and Jax’s story and am already itching to write the next one, WE DANCED ALL NIGHT which features uber responsible lawyer Connie and Jax’s brother, thrill-seeker/surfer dude/bestselling author Johnson.

In a few days that draft will be off to my agent well in advance of my deadline. But for all the other times I freaked and for all my writer friends who dread that deadline, a little fun this Friday with this quote from Douglas Adams.

P.S. For those who might be wondering why I chose a typewriter, I wrote my first book on a typewriter. Not fun.

#ThrowbackThursday Loyal Mets Fans

Many years ago I was able to buy 2 tickets to a Mets-St. Louis Cardinals Division Playoff at Shea Stadium. There was no question my daughter and I would go, especially since hubby was out-of-town. It was an amazing experience. The game was rained out, but the rain out didn’t happen until we were already there and in our rain gear. We came back the next day and it was a tight game and running late. We had only minutes to spare if we were going to make the last train back to NJ. Unfortunately, Billy Wagner gave up a late inning home run and it was over. Done. Put a fork in our Mets. Sigh. We were expecting a lot after last year, but it seems injury after injury are going to keep them out of the postseason this year, although I haven’t given up hope yet for a wild card berth.

#WriteWed Secrets of Grand Central Terminal & Dare to Love from TAMING THE VAMPIRE

I’m so excited to have completed another story in The Calling is Reborn Vampire Series, especially this one since I’ve been intrigued with the hero, Vampire Slayer Benjamin, since TO LOVE AND SERVE. I won’t spoil what happens to him in that story, but suffice it to say I’ve been itching to do his story and give him the Happily-Ever-After that he deserves.

This story is actually a first in the series since neither FBI Agent Diana Reyes or Southern Vampire Ryder Latimer appear in the story, although they are mentioned. This novella is complete, but look for the continuation of Benjamin and Rhiannon’s story in FIGHT FOR LOVE, which I hope to have out in early 2017.

As for Grand Central Terminal, many of the scenes in DARE TO LOVE are set in and beneath Grand Central. I just love this building with all its amazing art and secrets. For example, the Whispering Wall just outside the Oyster Bar restaurant. No one knows for sure if it was intentional, but if you stand facing the wall diagonally across from someone and whisper, that other person can hear you clear as day.

Did you know that in the 1940s there were orders to shoot and kill any unauthorized person who tried to enter the area for the generators? Why? Damaging those generators would have crippled troop and supply shipments all across the East Coast. Look for scenes set down there as Rhiannon slowly comes into her Slayer powers and realizes that they come from some very unique places.

There is art everywhere you look in this important transportation hub. Here is some artwork above each of the tracks!

Besides the tracks and commuter areas, a very nice food market was built in what had once been an alley for deliveries to the Oyster Bar. There are many different kinds of shops for produce, cheeses, meats, coffee, baked goods. You name it! We often go there to pick up lunch or ingredients for dinner.

Hope you enjoyed this Write Wednesday look at Grand Central Terminal and DARE TO LOVE from TAMING THE VAMPIRE.
