#ManCandyMonday Daniel Henney and Drama Fever

Today is a shoutout to my Mini-Me and her obsession with K-Pop, Korean dramas and Drama Fever.

Daniel Henney is an American actor of Korean descent who is known for a number of movies, including Big Hero 6, and for a number of popular Korean dramas. Daniel is also a model who has appeared in various commercials and magazines.

He is currently starring in Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders with another favorite of mine, Gary Sinese.

Thanks to Daniel’s Facebook page for this photo!

Here is a little blurb for the story! You can download the free read here: http://www.instafreebie.com/free/mpx6b

JUST ONE NIGHT Military RomanceHe has just one night to prove to her that anything is possible…

Jason Hart, Jase to his friends, has just graduated college and earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. It’s the night of the graduation party and she’ll be there. His best friend’s slightly older sister, Nickie. Nickie is the only woman he’s really wanted for a long time. He has just one night to make it happen.

She has just one night before the man of her dreams leaves, maybe forever, but can she find the courage to take a chance…

Nicole de Salvo has been in love – and lust – for her little brother’s best friend for years. For years she’s watched from afar and done nothing about her attraction for Jason Hart only now their time together is almost at an end. On their last night together will she find the courage to do something about her feelings, or will she live with regret for the rest of her life?

I hope you all have a great weekend and if you’re in the Jersey Shore area, please pop on down for a fun night!

#ThrowbackThursday Sharing Birthday Babies

OMG, I can’t believe it’s Thursday already! I hope you are all having a great week so far. I had a special day on Monday – another birthday – and I share it with lots of people. Hubby for starters. He’s younger than I am by hours. A best friend’s daughter and a work friend’s daughter. Last, but not least, my nephew and godson shares that special day.

Today’s throwback is a picture of him with my daughter many years ago! What cuties and they both are still gorgeous if I must say so myself.

#ManCandyMonday Rufus Sewell

Rufus first caught my eye in A KNIGHT’S TALE, even if he was playing the bad guy. He seems to do that a lot actually. He’s been in my brain lately because I’ve been watching THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE while I’m on the treadmill. This series is an Amazon original and truly fascinating. The story is based on a novel by Philip K. Dick and it’s an alternate history within an alternate history. Very interesting.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Man Candy Choice.

#ThrowbackThursday My Cat Slate

Sorry to have missed you yesterday, but there were all kinds of train problems and it was tough for me to connect to post.

Today’s Throwback is for my little cat Slate. He is such a character! I have never known a cat just like him. He’s very affectionate, especially with my hubby. He loves to hug. He’ll hug your arm or his mom and siblings (who are feral cats that we feed and take care of). With his extra toes, you definitely know he’s hugging you!

He listens like a dog so when hubby says, “Come on, Slate,” he follows. He loves to sleep on hubby’s lap and at night, he’ll sleep at the foot of the bed. The other night, he hugged my foot for a good while before I had to move.

So without further ado . . . Slate.

#TuesdayTip Eating Fat to Lose Fat #Fitness #Health

I hit another milestone today – 40 pounds lost. It took me a long time between the holidays (no pounds gained luckily) and the dreaded plateau.

Anyone who has tried to lose weight has hit a plateau and sometimes they are tough to break through. I tried lowering and raising my calorie counts. Exercising more. Even exercising a little less. Those stubborn 3 or so pounds just would not leave me.

I spoke to my trainer and we talked about my diet and it turned out that in my quest to eat healthier I had seriously eliminated fat from my diet. Both good and bad fats. He said to me, “You need to eat fat to lose fat.”

As you can imagine, I was surprised, but I took his words to heart because he has really helped me improve my overall health and fitness.

So I added back some healthy fats. Avocado. Nuts. Low fat dairy. Coconut oil. Olive oil. Eggs.

What happened? Well, those stubborn pounds disappeared in just a few days. WOO HOO.

So today’s Tuesday Tip is: Eat more healthy fats.

If you want more information on this concept and healthy fats, you can visit these links:

Just a last word of warning: Watch out for foods that claim to be low fat, but just seem too good to be true. Oftentimes there is a lot of added sugar and salt or artificial ingredients to make up for the “lower fat.”

#ManCandyMonday Leap Year & Matthew Goode

Leap_year_posterSo it’s a very special day since it only comes around every 4 years and there are some weird customs associated with this Leap Day.

One of these customs comes from Ireland where supposedly St. Brigid struck a bargain with St. Patrick to allow women to propose to men every four years.

Today’s Man Candy choice is related to that custom in that he starred in LEAP YEAR, a movie about a woman who goes to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend but finds a very different love along the way. The love interest is Matthew Goode, who is actually English, but we’ll not quibble about that since he’s such a cutie.

If you haven’t seen the movie, treat yourself today to it on this Leap Year Day!

Matthew also appeared in CHASING LIBERTY, another fun movie about unexpected love.

If you cannot see the trailer below, click here to see the Official Leap Year trailer.

The LEAP YEAR poster is copyright the movie company and is being used for purposes of review and commentary.
