#TravelTuesday – A Trip to London

I’ve been blessed to visit London several times. A few times for business and research and then for a family vacation! It’s one of my favorite cities and I hope I get to visit there again soon. We’ve been lucky to be there for the British equivalent of Memorial Day and it’s inspiring to see how veterans and the military are honored. Today’s picture is a shot of the Tower of London where they keep the Crown Jewels and traitors. An interesting mix.

Good morning! Sorry to have missed you for part of last week but I was laid low by a wicked cold! It was a tough go looking at all those gorgeous blonde men, but someone had to do it. Luckily I found sexy Matthew Noszka who totally fits what I imagined how Jonathan would look. By the way, do you know that women don’t favor blonde men on book covers? Really? I think Matthew would make a great cover model, don’t you?

#WriteWed – Liberty States Fiction Writers Conference

As both a writer and a reader, I love attending conferences, especially my local ones! As the President of Liberty States Fiction Writers and a presenter at this year’s conference, I am doubly stoked to attend! We’ve got an awesome line-up of keynote speakers with the amazing Julie Kenner and Dee Davis. We’ve also got 24+ Writers’ Track Workshops and 16+ Readers’ Track Workshops for you to choose from as well as a Saturday Night party and Book Fair! This year we’ve also introduced a Young Writers track for students (17+) and writers at all levels who wish to either learn or refresh select writing skills.

If you can’t make the conference, I’d love to see you at the Book Fair which will be held on Saturday, March 24 and will be open to the general public in addition to all conference attendees. Here’s some more info about the conference!

Scrambled Eggs #TuesdayTip

I was walking past one of the local restaurants on the way to work and noticed a morning wrap that seemed appealing. It had scrambled eggs, pastrami, hash browns and of course, the wrap. I started thinking and got rid of the wrap and hash browns since I’m watching my carbs. Come to think of it, I’m not really a fan of pastrami so that went as well leaving me with . . . SCRAMBLED EGGS! Eggs are a fav of mine and they are so good for you! I usually like mine once over medium, but of course that requires bread for dunking or grits for mixing, so scrambled is my next choice for a protein packed breakfast.

But how do you make the PERFECT scrambled egg? Since mine are invariably too hard and on the hard side, I searched the web for you and came up with these possible recipe suggestions. Enjoy!

#ManCandyMonday – Cillian Murphy from Peaky Blinders

My husband and I are hooked on Peaky Blinders. Think Boardwalk Empire but set in Birmingham, England. I love the history in the story, the romance and also, sexy lead Cillian Murphy. Cillian first caught my eye in 28 Days Later, a drama about a post apocaplyptic society where a virus has changed people into zombies. If you’re looking for something interesting to fill your nights, check out Peaky Blinders on Netflix and Cillian’s amazing blue eyes. Be warned though: You’ll have to turn on the closed captioning to make sure you’re getting all the dialogue on account of the British and Irish accents.

#FridayFact – Minister of Loneliness & a Ban on Best Friends?

This goes in the “You can’t make this stuff up” bucket. The U.K. just appointed a Minister of Loneliness to deal with the results of a study that found over 9 million Brits “often or always feel lonely” according to the NY Times (see http://nyti.ms/2BekEDe). At the same time, a British parenting expert supports a ban on “best friends” in school (see http://dailym.ai/2BeMjDZ).

Hmmm. No best friends and more loneliness. Could there by a correlation? I’d love to hear what you have to say about it!
