#ThoughtfulThursday Jersey Girl Bridesmaids and the Jersey Shore

I took a day off to go to the spa with my daughter. Fate intervened and instead, we had a lovely girls day down the Jersey Shore. We watched a Korean drama, we biked to have a fabulous vegan lunch (no I’m a certified meat eater and the lunch was a delicious surprise), and we relaxed before doing dinner and some retail therapy. In the midst of all that, we also took time to just sit on the beach and enjoy a truly fabulous summer-like day. There were even people in bathing suits soaking up the sun.

My daughter and I sat there and just took a few moments to breathe and then did some work on our respective stories. My daughter is an aspiring author and has journals full of stories. She self-published her first work, FOLLOWING JANE, in 2013 and is busy working on other stories.

I just finished Book 1 in the Jersey Girl Bridesmaids series and am now busy plotting #2. Having lots of fun with it and I think it’ll be a truly amazing story! The tentative title of that one is WE DANCED ALL NIGHT although if they had, we wouldn’t have the unexpected surprise that will force two people to face their past and the kind of future they could have together.

Anyway, I’m sharing a photo from our writing on the beach and some peaceful waves, sand, and sun with you!

#TravelTuesday Fall in Love with New England Conference

I had an awesome time at the Fall in Love with New England Conference. I had a chance to visit with some friends, make new friends, and spend a few hours in Salem, Mass. It was lots of fun and if you’re in the New England area, I would highly recommend you check out this conference in 2017!

#ManCandyMonday Singer & Model Steffen Hughes

Many thanks to my friend Kym A. for turning me onto singer and model Steffen Hughes! It was so awesome getting to spend time with you Kym at the Fall in Love with New England Conference. I met lots of really nice people and some other friends face-to-face for the first time. So awesome. I highly recommend this conference!

But back to Man Candy Monday! Steffen is a singer and model from Alabama. Steffen got his first guitar at age 16 and released his first EP in 2014. Steffen is also an avid fitness advocate. Road Trip Time Fall in Love with New England Conference

I’m off to the Fall in Love with New England Conference and I am so looking forward to it! There are going to be lots of fun games, panels and a book signing for readers and just as many wonderful opportunities for authors to connect with the readers and with each other.

#ManCandyMonday Ignacio (Nacho) Figueras

A world class polo player and model for what else but Polo by Ralph Lauren, this man is smoking hot! With a 6 goal handicap, Figueras is one of the top 100 polo players in the world and some consider him the polo equivalent of another hottie, David Beckham. I could so picture him playing Jax from the first book in the Jersey Girl Bridesmaid series!

#WriteWed Jersey Shore Inspiration in The Calling is Reborn Vampire Novels

I love the Jersey Shore. I have peace there and my creative juices just get going when I’m down the Shore. It’s why I decided to set my new contemporary romance series, the Jersey Girl Bridesmaids, at the Jersey Shore.

It’s also why I decided to add a little bit of the Jersey Shore to The Calling is Reborn series, even though 95% of it is set in New York. There is only one book not set in New York – KISSED BY A VAMPIRE – which detours to South Beach for one of my fav character’s story, namely, Stacia, a two thousand year old vampire.

Stacia has brass and courage, much like Michaela Ramirez, the damphir who first appears in TO LOVE AND SERVE. This is the first story that vampire Slayer Benjamin appears in also and with good reason: Michaela and Benjamin were a thing, sort of. It’s not easy to have a thing with Michaela because she’s wounded and prickly and difficult. At best, Benjamin could only work up a friendship with her and hoped that in time, it would be more.

More doesn’t come with Benjamin, however, and to find out who is the perfect man for Michaela, you can check out DIE FOR LOVE.

Michaela is a Jersey Girl and there are a number of scenes in DIE FOR LOVE that occur on the Jersey Shore. There are also more scenes with Benjamin as he is reborn only to discover that Michaela has found the man for her.
