Caridad Visits the Amazing Grand Ol’ Opry

This throwback is to a few days ago when I was able to visit the Grand Ol’ Opry. I wasn’t sure how I’d like it since I’m not really a country music fan, but I have to say that it was very inspiring! Watching the singers as they spoke about performing there or seeing their reactions at being inducted into the Opry was really very emotional.

It was also emotional hearing about how everyone came together after the horrible 2010 Nashville floods that swept water throughout the location, leaving upwards of four feet of water above stage level. Truly amazing.

It was also fun to see all the backstage areas and things like the dressing rooms which each have different themes. There are dressing rooms for newbies, stars who have a military background, the ladies, a special Minnie Pearl one, and so many more as you’ll see from the photos.

#ThrowbackThursday – RWA National Conference at Disneyworld

Last year’s RWA conference was so much fun on so many levels. Great workshops, wonderful book signings and most of all, getting to spend time with both old friends and new ones! It was great to see so many people in and around the conference hotel as well as at the Literacy Signing. It was also so nice to spend time with some buddies on a trip to Disneyworld where we got to see the awesome fireworks. I just love fireworks. Believe it or not, this photo was taken with my smartphone. The cameras in them are getting better and better every day.

This year’s conference is in Denver and if you’re in that area, I’d love to see you. The Literacy Book Fair is open to the general public and all proceeds go to a local literacy group so it’s for a good cause. For more info, you can visit www.rwa.org.

Thank you for the friendship and inspiration!

First of all, sorry for the delay in posting, but it’s taken me two days to catch up with work and writing obligations after my trip to RWA 2017. I had a blast, despite the Orlando heat and humidity. I got to spend time with old and dear friends, make new friends, and of course, get in a number of very interesting and useful workshops to help me be a better writer. A win-win situation!

50 Book & RITA Pin #ThrowbackThursday

With the RWA Conference coming up in July, I’m so excited. I’m getting together promo items, I’ve got a date with some new RWA members for a trip to Disney, other dates with my agent and publisher, a signing . . . SO MUCH TO BE EXCITED ABOUT.

And I’ve divested all the assorted pins from my badge holder and have left only two for now: My 50 Book Pin and my RITA nomination pin. So that’s today’s Throwback! My two pins.

#ManCandyMonday Giancarlo Stanton

I’m back from San Diego and boy did I have a blast. The All Star Game has inspired me to finish up the next baseball book and I had an amazing time attending workshops, talking with friends about work and life, and meeting new people at the RWA Conference. I’ll be sharing some photos tomorrow from all the events.

For today, since I’m in baseball mode, I’ve got sexy Giancarlo Stanton up at the plate. He might be a Mets killer with the might swing of his bat, but he is a hottie!

Wow, I am just recovering from the conference! I had a great time and it was loads of fun. I was so happy to see some of you there and to also spend time with some long distance friends. Look what came in the mail and a lovely time!

Last night was wonderful! I had a lovely book signing with my friends Nisha Sharma and Tina Gabrielle at the TO BE CONTINUED bookstore in Metuchen, NJ. Central Jersey readers this is an awesome place for you to go, hang out and pick up some books! Plus they are sooo romance friendly!

We had an absolutely lovely time there and I’m looking forward to doing another event there soon.

Of course, the night got better when I got home because there was a package waiting for me and guess what it contained? SQUEEEE! My RITAÂ® nomination pin and an invite to the RITAÂ® and GOLDEN HEARTÂ® reception. Here is a photo of it (yes, I put the frame on it in the photo! Will have to think how to preserve the invite for posterity’s sake).
