#ThrowbackThursday Loyal Mets Fans

Many years ago I was able to buy 2 tickets to a Mets-St. Louis Cardinals Division Playoff at Shea Stadium. There was no question my daughter and I would go, especially since hubby was out-of-town. It was an amazing experience. The game was rained out, but the rain out didn’t happen until we were already there and in our rain gear. We came back the next day and it was a tight game and running late. We had only minutes to spare if we were going to make the last train back to NJ. Unfortunately, Billy Wagner gave up a late inning home run and it was over. Done. Put a fork in our Mets. Sigh. We were expecting a lot after last year, but it seems injury after injury are going to keep them out of the postseason this year, although I haven’t given up hope yet for a wild card berth.

#ThrowbackThursday Let’s Go Mets!

Baseball players are superstitious and I guess so are baseball fans. Last two times I wore my Mets sweatshirt they won, so I’m wearing it again for the decisive Game 5. If there is karma, they should win because that Utley play was horrible and affected the outcome of the game. So here’s me from this morning with my lucky sweatshirt.

And for good measure, a real Throwback Thursday. This is a picture of my daughter and I at Shea Stadium for a 2007 division playoff game against the Cardinals. Actually, it was a rained out game and we sat in the stadium, getting wet, until they decided not to play. We had a fun time and returned a day or so later only to watch our beloved Mets lose to the Cardinals. Hoping today’s outcome is way different.

#ManCandyMonday Charlie Culberson Colorado Rockies

My thoughts are still with baseball right now as my Metties make a pitch for the post-season! Starting to get worried. I hope they don’t blow it like they did in 2007 and 2008. After I cried as they lost the last game at Shea, I framed my 2008 Divisional Playoff tickets for the playoff that wasn’t going to happen.

Anyway, today’s hottie is Charlie Culberson from the Colorado Rockies. Charlie is an outfielder/second baseman and sadly, in May of this year, he hit a pinch hit walk off two run homerun off one of the New York Mets closers. That gave the Rockies an 11-10 win over the Mets. Sigh.
