  1. Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

    1. Some come from real people, like in The Family She Never Met. The character of Carmen in that book is a lot like my mother. Also, some of the experiences were my family’s experiences in coming from Cuba. For the most part, though, they are fictional creations.
