Fun Baseball Game and Romance

Happy Friday! Hubby and I love baseball and love going to a fun baseball game! We’re not far from a local minor league ballpark and will go to watch a game. That night, we scored $2 seats to see the Blue Claws play an Orioles affiliate. We always enjoy it because they have giveaways and a mascot run. In homage to a true New Jersey favorite, the mascots are pork roll, egg, and cheese. For all the North Jersey folks, Taylor Ham is pork roll, but not all pork roll is Taylor Ham. It’s an ongoing battle between North and South Jerseyans. If you love baseball as much as I do, but also love romance novels, check out my Marauders baseball romances. Amazing Visit to Sandy Hook

You guys overwhelmingly chose a beagle the other day as a choice for a K-9 Agent! Yeah! I think you’ll love seeing Havana, the beagle in K-9 TRACKER. Havana is a great scent hound, but also very intuitive and affectionate, which is necessary in this emotional story about a young woman who is trying to prove that the father who disappeared twenty years earlier did not go AWOL. Crooked Pass Security has been hired to find out the truth and help the woman restore military benefits to her family so her mother can get a much-needed medical treatment. There are scenes set in a rural area in New Jersey and Fort Dix, but the big action scenes are on Sandy Hook, which is home to Fort Hancock, a Nike Missile site, and an assortment of batteries that were built to protect the area. Here are some photos, and if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy of K-9 TRACKER or grabbed any of the other books in the Crooked Pass Security series, you can do it at https://amzn.to/3RGlxBp.

Awesome K-9 Name

My proposal for #3 in the Crooked Pass Security K-9 Division Spinoff is off to my editor! Yeah! Now it’s time to brainstorm a new series, and I have a great idea that I think you’ll love. Also, and more importantly, THANK YOU for helping me pick a name for the Doberman in #3. After checking out all the recommendations, BEAST was the name that stuck in my brain. Thanks, Kym A., for the suggestion, and look for a mention in that book’s dedication! If you want to pre-order the first book in that spinoff series, K-9 TRACKER, it’s available at https://amzn.to/3RGlxBp.

Laughing Corgis or Fun-loving Beagles

One of the most fun parts of writing the K-9 series is choosing the dog that fits each story. For CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING, I turned the idea of a K-9 agent on its head by having a K-9 unit dropout corgi. That’s because that story needed a dog that would bring emotional relief, and a corgi, with its always-grinning, almost laughing face, was perfect. For my upcoming December release, K-9 TRACKER, I needed a good scent dog to help find a missing soldier. Although I always associate beagles with Snoopy and my husband’s overweight pet Spotty, beagles are great scent dogs, and also fun-loving. A good mix for a story that has a lot of emotion since the heroine is dealing with her father’s disappearance and her mother’s illness. A bit of comic relief, along with great scenting skills was a perfect fit. So, which dog do you love best: a corgi or a beagle? P.S. Complete Bookcase Makeover

I’ve been cleaning up after our return from RAGT, and that meant putting away any leftover craft supplies, unpacking books, taking inventory, and packing away storage totes and my banner. While I was doing that, I took a look at my bookcase and told myself yet again that I had to get it organized. My main bookcase is filled with my books and my daughter’s. I try to keep at least one of every edition that’s printed because it’s fun to see how they change up the covers and titles when the books go overseas. The Hungarian versions are interesting because they’re printed on glossy paper and look like a small magazine. I even have a copy of a manga version of my romantic suspense book, MORE THAN A MISSION, one of my favorite books. As I started to organize, I realized there were several books with similar side branding, and I put them all together. They made a nice display on top. Then I organized the books, audiobooks, and a DVD for SOUTH BEACH LOVE. I was happy with the aftermath. What do you think? P.S. If you haven’t read MORE THAN A MISSION, a story about a chef who may be an assassin and the man sent to capture her, grab your copy today at https://amzn.to/49VkSCw.

Do you love lazy or busy weekends?

I thought today was going to be a lazy day, especially with the 90-degree weather we’ve had the last few days. Instead, sis and I spent the day running around! The weekend is looking hectic as well, with my monthly writers group meeting and errands to run. Sigh. I would love a nice, lazy weekend. What about you? Do you love busy or lazy weekends?
