There are some shows that endure and The Twilight Zone is definitely on that list. I remember watching reruns of it over and over and tuning into the marathons when they came on. The shows touched on so many important subjects beneath the guise of entertainment. For me, the one I must identify with: the one with William Shatner where he sees a gremlin tearing up the engine. It’s how I feel every time I fly. How about you? Do you have a favorite Twilight Zone episode?
Meet Navy Seal Rafe Castillo
My contribution to the STRENGTH & HONOR charity anthology is STAY THE NIGHT, one of the novellas in the TAKE A CHANCE series. The series is a collection of steamy stories that feature military men and women at different stages of their lives, from getting ready to leave for a first deployment to a hero like Rafe, who has been a Navy Seal for six years and is almost at the end of his tour of duty. Rafe is supposed to come home but Rafe isn’t sure that home is where he wants to be. He married his high school sweetheart because he loved her and she had become pregnant with his child but she miscarried. When Rafe comes home he finds that Elena is nothing like the young woman he left behind. She’s smart, sophisticated, and successful while he’s the same man he was in high school. He’s wondering why Elena would want to stay with him but the passion between them is still strong. Is passion enough to keep a marriage together? You can read this story and 10 other wonderful stories featuring military heroes in the STRENGTH & HONOR anthology. All proceeds from the anthology go to an organization that helps prevent soldier suicides. Grab your copy at https://books2read.com/StrengthAndHonor.
Happy Times with Mini-Me
I’ve been spending a lot of time with my daughter lately. As you might know, she’s expecting a baby soon so we’ve been happily watching that journey as it happens. But she also picked up the writing bug and we’ve been enjoying sharing that love as well. We’ve done several conferences and book events together and are planning more for after the baby is born! This photo was from a Liberty States Fiction Writers conference in 2022, I believe. MATCHING SET is the second book in her Korean-inspired romances. Samantha Ann has a new novella that just came out – FAN SERVICE – which is #2 in a spicy K-pop inspired romance series that I’m not allowed to read. LOL! Hope you enjoyed today’s Throwback!

Help Stop Soldier Suicide
Happy Book Birthday to the Strength & Honor Anthology! When my friend and fellow author Sharon Hamilton asked me to take part in this anthology, I couldn’t say “no”, especially when I heard that the proceeds from the anthology would go to an organization that helps prevent soldier suicide. The Strength & Honor anthology contains 11 short stories featuring military heroes battling their inner demons and finding their happily ever after. My contribution to the anthology is Stay the Night, a steamy story about a Navy Seal who is coming home to a woman who is nothing like the young girl he left behind. Forced into marriage by an unexpected pregnancy, they find themselves separated by the demands of impending parenthood. Rafe enlists in the Navy Seals to support his new wife and the child who is on the way, but Fate is determined to throw them another curve. After Elena’s miscarriage and years of separation during Rafe’s tours of duty, have they grown too far apart or is love still possible between them? You can download the anthology at https://books2read.com/Strength-Honor.
This or That: Coffee or Tea
It’s one of life’s most difficult decisions to make: coffee or tea? I’m an equal opportunity girl although I normally must have coffee in the morning but prefer tea in the afternoon or evening. What about you? Coffee or tea? P.S. – I’ve always wanted to have tea out of a big silver samovar like Princess Tatiana might have. She’s the heroine in To Catch a Princess, one of my fav romantic suspense books! You can read more about her at https://amzn.to/4bmWwzI.
Happy Cinco de Mayo
Happy Cinco de Mato! Although this has become such a big “Mexican” holiday in the U.S., in reality it’s not such a big holiday in Mexico and it’s not Mexican Independence Day. On Cinco de Mayo, the Mexican army beat the French in the city of Puebla and I believe it’s celebrated in that city. Still, let’s celebrate the lovely country of Mexico and its people! While I was working, I had the pleasure of visiting several different Mexican cities and experience their wonderful culture. From Mexico City to Guadalajara and Tequila, I was able to learn a great deal about its history and I also took the time to learn more because it fascinated me. I used what I learned and that experience to write some of my books. In AZTEC GOLD, a paranormal romance, I based the villain on the Aztec gods and also shared a lot about Mexican culture and food as the heroine searches for her missing lover. In THE FIFTH KINGDOM, a romantic suspense, the search is on to find an ancient relic with mystical powers that’s based on the Mexican sun stone, one of the symbols of Mexico. I was lucky to see the sun stone when I visited Mexico City. Both books are available in Kindle Unlimited for free and specially priced! P.S. – Happy Birthday to my fur baby Slate who turns 10 today!
